 McCain will lead Obama down the road of inexperience. By bringing up things Obama knows nothing about.

Obama may be young and also might not have as much experience as McCain...but McCain is just too old period, I don't hate the guy though...

That's my view also. If he got in - I think he'd be a single-term only.

You had better hope your employer doesnt use this same attitude in about 30 years. I can see how pissed off you would be if your boss let you go for the reasons you are suggesting here. My god man!

Not really. Its a high-stress, high-profile position. The man is 72 (average life expectancy is around 75-76?). Whether his health will last the term of office has to be a consideration - on some level at least.

So is being in a POW camp for five years. I beleive whole heartedly in the fact that age brings wisdom. The "too old period" wasnt used in that context. It was used in a way that age is somehow a bad thing, plain and simple. The same case can be made for "too young" also.

I'm not saying it makes him unsuitable - but I do think he'll be a single-termer. I also think that a lot will depend on who runs as his VP.

How can anyone say "I can't wait to see [candidate x] fail" at this point? I mean, it's not even spring yet. How can you hate any of the candidates?

McCain is slimier and dirtier than most people know, and a lot more conservative than some people want to believe, IMO. But Jeez, I don't hate the guy!

And if Hillary gets the nom, I'm ready to back her up. I want Obama, but if it doesn't work out that way, the minute Hillary gets the nom, I'm forgetting all that and supporting her.

The thing is....having experience doesn't necessarily make you more qualified for the job...there have been plenty of presidents that have had "experience" that have sucked and others with notably less experience that have been great or at least decent...Whoever wins ie...Hillary or Obama...more power to them cause experience or no...they are going to need all the help in the world to get out of this mess that W has left for them...

I'm not knocked out by any of the candidates - though I would most likely go with Obama. He seems like an honest, well-intentioned and capable guy.

That the smearers are going after his family background and his name says something about how desperate they must be for dirt.

Seriously, especially when the alternative, if you're a supporter of Clinton, is handing the Republicans the Supreme Court.

It's very early (Obama was outpolling McCain a couple days ago), and it depends on what the election ends up being 'about.' and who the VPs are. McCain is weak on anything that isn't foreign policy; he just doesn't care about it all that much, and it it shows in interviews. Obama is stronger on domestic policy and if he picks up a strong VP candidate, and the economy continues to tank, it'll be the Dems election, easily.

You left out unforseen messes created by inexperience.

Do you think Bill Richardson would help? He's great on foreign policy but he's also "ethnic" and I'm afraid that would turn some people off. Dunno.
