indianheart did u get anyother info from your IV bill or DS230 beeing generate yet.

i just call today and get a message saying missing info.

i spoke to operator and found out that my DS230 is generate

i will return my complete ds230 with photo tomorrow back to them via over hope i get another update on Saturday

I just called and got the same missing message (I called on monday and they said everything was fine with my I-864 packet). there was one difference in this message and that was the date they sent the letter...the first time it said letter mailed the 22nd and this time it said the 23rd. now I dont know what difference it makes. as far as me sending the ds-230 right now I am having to wait for a couple of documents from my hubby. he needed to renew his passport and his pcc had expired. he will mail these to me next week and i will receive them in 10-12 days after that (I am looking at 3 weeks now in order to send out the ds-230...so much for doing this shortcut <_< ) at least I saved a bit of time with the others to make up for this.

I am really happy for you to know that it was received and you are still rolling. my turn will come soon

Hi indianheart,

For how long is the PCC valid? I'm going to need one for my wife in Baroda(Gujarat, India) and was wondering whether she should get it now or not.

Thanks for your reply!

the PCC is valid for 6 months if it is from that passport office. this is the tricky part. if your passport is less then 6 months old a PCC from them is all you need, if your passport is older then 6 months you need to have a PCC from every place you have lived for 6 months or more. the PCC's from the local police offices are valid for one year.

pay NVC for IV bill $400 no need to paid at embassy

Hi, Coolgt, our cases are still in USCIS, I am reading ahead in order to use James' short cut.

One question, does the agent ( USC ) need submit the DS-230 with the original documents to NVC? I read on Guangzhou Embassy instruction, seems Chinese Applicant need bring all the original documents when get interview, if agent(USC) get the original documents and gave to NVC, how can Applicant keep the original one?

Second question, is the packet USC get from NVC together with DS-230 call P3? Is P3 be sent by NVC ? Not Guangzhou embassy? Embassy instruction says Guangzhou send P3.

So, if USC is the agent, applicant only get P4 for interview dates and instruction?

Thanks a lot for your help. I am confused now.

Lucy

when you get to NVC, NVC only required you to send the first part of ds230 a copy of passport and two photos.

when that complete case will forward to embassy.

Guangzhou will send the applicant the p3 and p4. p3 is a package for medical check up and you have to return ds230 part 2 at the time. p4 is the interview letter it self. and the stuff you need to bring to the interview is either original or notarized

will upload the letter from Guangzhou when i get back to my lap top, it will give u an understanding what require at Guangzhou.

It seems you did not use James' short cut. Hope your case be finished in NVC soon .

I still have several questions :

a. Is Alien Register number NVC Case Number?

b. Where can I find GIV-24 family compisition sheet?

c. Since my husband will send signed original I-864 form and ORIGINAL tax returns to NVC , when I get interview, I can only provide COPY of Tax Returns , corrrect? I-864 form should not a problem since he can sign and bring to here.

d. Should I sign for my daugher ( less than 17 years ) on her DS-230 ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I was some what use Jame's shortcut. when i call some time i cannot get real information.

like my IV bill it never in the message. and i cannot get through the operator so I was some what using the shortcut.

it save me like 1-3 months

to answer some of you question.

a. your USCIS # on your No1 or no2 receipt can also act as your case #

NVC case number in guangzhou begin with "GUZ4200852099" that is how NVC assign your case.

b. GIV-24 is in package Guangzhou send you

c. Your husband should have a copy of the I864, tax and w2. you can just give that during your interview

d. you should sign your daughter form.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3176.html

I've two questions that need to clarify if anyone can help:

  • (1) The AOS fee and IV fee must be paid in money order (or cashier check), not by personal check?
  • (2) Both $70 and $400 money order should be payable to "National Visa Center"?
If I can write personal checks to NVC in St. Louis, that would be great. That way I can monitor when the checks will be cashed.

the thing is you cannot write them personal check because of bounce check or insufficent fund.

yes both of them is paid to NVC with Saint louis po box and address.

the $70 you can use the shortcut but the $400 u cannot people already try and fail

so paying IV bill you should wait for the stub it self

the thing is you cannot write them personal check because of bounce check or insufficent fund.

yes both of them is paid to NVC with Saint louis po box and address.

the $70 you can use the shortcut but the $400 u cannot people already try and fail

so paying IV bill you should wait for the stub it self

Thanks for clarifying, coolgt.

I'm planning on buying both money orders when I come back in from offshore. I was a little confused when indianheart mentioned about sending "check" and calling "bank" to monitor if the "check" is cashed out or not.

...I mailed mine the 11th and the check hadnt cleared as of the 26th (no time to call bank since, I work 12 hour shifts for 3 days so monday will be the first oportunity for me to call)
