Kaydee: it's star power. He's genuine and honest, and people respond to that. People like that he didn't work the Democratic party machine as extensively as Hillary.

Not true about race. He would never have aspired to the position he's enjoying now if he had not been black. He would simply have been just another white guy giving a speech at the last Democratic Convention.

The press has had a man crush on this idjit ever since...Trust me, I live in Illinois where much of this press for his potential candidacy did nothing but push him along.

Much of his popularity comes from an anti-Hillary movement. The Democrats fielded two candidates that have no tangible experience and cast aside those that did.....

I don't need to get over his "blackness", for he really isn't black. He has a mixed ethnicity, white, and black, and of the African heritage that you want to diminish and discount as legitimate for he's not a 8th generation american black (1/2 caucasion)........

I know he's not fluent in ebonics but he has the same "blackness" you declare yourself to have...but he's also caucasion.........

Your argument that my experience with a black woman from africa doesn't live up to your "blackness" is absurd, except of course my wife hasn't mastered ebonics either.

The emphasis I'm denying is on self-proclaimed, kaydee. The man isn't proclaiming he's black. How he looks is kinda there for everyone to see themselves. Should he be wearing a ski mask? Is McCain proclaiming himself as a white candidate?

Barack's only claim to fame is that he gave a speech at the convention and from that point out the media's been talking about the 1st term black Senator from Illinois.

Without that noteriety he'd be just another 1st term Senator, as he rightly should be.........

The guy's running for President - of course he's going to get some exposure in the media. I'm not sure exactly what you expect... Obama's campaign isn't running on the basis that he's black - but only an ignorant twit would try to make a case that the fact that he is "of colour" amounts to some sort of lefty conspiracy.

The truth is - there isn't that much to tell the major candidates apart; and Mike Huckabee, the only "frontrunner" with actual experience of running something - doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning the Republican party nomination.
