Honeymoon????

hmmm.... does anyone know what the guidelines are for our dear fiances who have visa to stay and marry us within 90 days in the US as far as honeymoons go???

Once we marry, can we both travel to the Islands even if not US Virgin Islands???

What are the risks if any???

Anyone???

I'm not sure about the U.S. Islands. But I'm pretty sure you CAN'T go to other islands. That would be like leaving the country and they wouldn't let your new husband back in because the K1 would no longer be valid and his status wouldn't be adjusted yet.

Unless you have AP you cannot. You can go to US territories (US Virgin Islands, Guam) or Hawaii. But as for other Carribean Islands...no.

Hey that's funny, because I was going to post the same question today. Can we go go HI?? Really?? That would be awsome! I'm horrible at geography, so can someone tell me what other US Island there are? Has anyone ever traveled outside the continental US while on the K-1??

Hawaii is AWESOME. Go to Maui - that's my favorite island. Unless you love big cities and nightlife, then Honolulu is for you. But I think Honolulu and Waikiki beach are WAY too crowded.

You can also go to the U.S. Virgin islands or the Florida Keys. I've been to the Florida Keys AND the Virgin islands. I'd take Hawaii or the Virgin Islands over the keys any day.

We're going to a B&B in a small town in the mountains east of where I live.

I enjoyed Hawaii, but I spent my first honeymoon there, so no can do. Ya'll are forgetting Puerto Rico. Very awesome island and US territory. Beautiful place to visit and I have (unofficial) family there. You know, the kind of family where there is no actual blood involved. The best kind.

Okay, so HI sounds really nice, but I'm seriously worried about us having problems with immigration, even though it's US soil. Has anyone gone on a K-1 and had problems getting back in?

Hawaii isn't a territory, it's a bonafide state of the nation. It's a domestic flight. You don't show passports or visas or anything. Just a picture ID, driver's license for a domestic flight. Flying to Hawaii is the equivalent of flying from NYC to California. Same deal, just better scenery and cleaner waters.

Just the most expensive idea for my situation, as we do live on the East Coast of the US.... so hawaii is farrrrrrrrrrr away!!!

But I have read other posts suggesting that although we can TECHNICALLY go to the US virgin islands with our new spouse, it may be difficult if we encounter a jerk in immigration, to come back to the mainland................. not sure about puerto rico..... I would stick with hawaii or somewhere on the mainland for my own opinion.... though I would much rather go to the caribbean islands..... I just dont want any chance of getting denied back in the mainland after all we have and will be going through to get my Man over here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can definately go to Puerto Rico with no problem. I thought you could definately go to VI, but if I read something about it in a book I would probably research it more, too. I've heard Hawaii is great, but expensive. Key West sounds like another great idea.

Thanks for starting this Steph. I was also thinking about Hawaii but being on the east coast like you....just a little out of my budget.

I thought you could go to the US Virgin Islands since they are a US territory. I would just say make sure to find flights that are direct and don't stop on foriegn soil.

oooh of course!!!

I am thinking maybe we will just do key west..... since it is still on the mainland and seems to be inexpensive... plus closer to us on the east coast

not sure though, because so far the search online at least has not brought up too many exciting photos of possible places to stay...... especially after getting heart set on SANDALS in antigua or st. lucia.......

Any other ideas??
