Well the only thing i know that could possibly slow it down once the file is in someone's hands is the name checking. More common names could slow the process down. Then again, there are probably a multitude of reasons!

Here's hoping we all get speedy approvals!!!!!

I had a general question about the K-1 Visa. Do you guys know how long it's valid for after it gets approved?

From what I've read:

Beneficiary has 6 months to use it once the Visa is issued. Then once in the US, the 90 day timer starts to get married.

Well, I know it's not that big a deal, but my fiancé hasn't got his NOA1 yet, though he sent the petition on Feb 7... He knows the check was cashed OK, but without the NOA1 we can't register to the USCIS site and check the progress of our case. I don't know where the problem may lie.. He'll probably call them in the next few days to ask what's wrong. I think it may have got lost in the mail, and if there are any such problems in the area where he lives, we'd better find out as soon as possible.

If he wrote them a check he should be able to get the tracking number off the back of it. It's sideways at the bottom of the endorsement section. It starts with three letters.

just wait a few more days. They received our petition Feb. 13, 2008 and we got the NOA1 in the mail on Feb. 25! That took long, most what I've read here in the Feb.filer, they all received their NOA1 within 4-7 days after USCIS received their petition. You can try to call them, but in the forum they say it doesn't really bring you a whole lot of answers cuz nobody knows who is working on your case. But you can give it a shot tho.

I am sure you'll have it in the mail by next week. It's prolly already on it's way to you :)

Good Luck to all Filers!
