passport photo's

has anyone had any problems with the size of passport photo's

apparently the sizes used in the usa are differant to the ones used in the uk

I always thought the International standard is 5 cm x 5 cm which is extremely close to the American 2" x 2".

A friend of mine applied for a Jamaican passport renewal through the Miami Jamaican consulate. She got an RFE for new passport photos. The one's they had taken at Walgreens, which is all she used throughtout the Visa process, were not accepted in Jamaica.

Well I just got UK passport pictures taken because I had to renew my passport and I had some excess copies left over. When I got packet 3, the measurements given where virtually exactly the same as the pictures I had. So I just plan to use my UK passport pictures for immigration purposes.

I had US size ones taken when I was down for medical. Some people have been lucky and got through interview with UK one, others have been sent to get US one taken so I'm going prepared. I have enough stress without any preventable additions.

I re-read the photo details on packet 3 and it says 50mm square. My UK passport pictures at 50mm in height, but just under 40mm wide.

Looks like I'll need to bloody well get more pictures taken

You can use your UK passport pics at the medical, in fact I think they prefer you to (fit nicely in the little box on the file!!!!).

I used UK size at the medical and US size for the interview

We sent in German size pics and were fine...no RFE

I used UK for initial filing and for medical but have US ones for interview.

I used a UK passport photo for the medical I had yesterday. I got my US photos from gould pharmacy which is the next street up from the embassy. £5 for two pics, takes less than five minutes. Snappy snaps wanted £15!

For our initial petition I used UK size photos and had no problems or RFEs, same for the medical. However, for the interview it will be US ones and I'll be going to the local highstreet to have them taken tonight. I'm not taking the chance of any delay.

Although, I'm sure I read on here that the embassy has a photobooth inside it now... can anyone confirm?

They do have a photo booth and it was working the day I had my interview but there have been posts on here before saying that it does break down - and there is only one.
