Congratulations IrieCat! Wow, how many approvals from Vermont have we had this week? It's absolutely crazy!

All of us sorry CSCers are going to be talking about our NoA2s while you're all having your weddings :P

As for dresses...well, my mother's friend made my mother feel guilty for not taking enough of an interest in my wedding, so this evening my mother has asked if I'd like to go dress shopping with her next week when I visit my parents. It'll be a simple dress, however, as I'm having a garden wedding (well, more of a BBQ backyard wedding).

That's a really lovely dress you've chosen, KitEEgirl!

I will pray you get you NOA2 & the actual visa in time for your wedding date.

We originally thought of having beach wedding here this year but since we changed plans and did the K1 instead.. I am hoping my SO would give me a simple garden wedding, I even told him his mom's garden is already ok for me but I think he is still looking for another place. We still plan on having a beach wedding here in the Philippines maybe 3-5years after so it is ok to have a simple wedding when i get there... Now, that BBQ backyard wedding would sound really kwel!

Do post your wedding dress if you'll get one next week.

Congratulations to all the VSC filers who were approved this week! I'm sorry to say I was MIA this week, but I found out Monday my company is sending me to London tomorrow (!!!) to work on a client for two weeks. Since it was such a last minute assignment I have been working my @ss off at the office to wrap up all my projects in progress. The best part is Aidan will fly over from Dublin next weekend to see me. I'm on cloud 9 that I get to see him unexpectedly before I go back over in April.

I am also doing a beach wedding in Marco Island, Florida. I will be doing my dress shopping in April. I have found a bunch of Alfred Angelo dresses online that I like so I'm really hoping one of those is the one. The last thing I want to do is drag the bridesmaids around to 10 different stores.

I can only hope my approval has got to be on the way soon, but initially I prepared myself for a May approval so anything before then would just be gravy.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

There is the link to my dress.. Although the dress looks a bit different on me.. the model there is an idiot stick figure with no soul....

dbears is right, this is a lovely dress!!

I was wondering... here in France, once you buy a dress, it takes several months to be made and to be altered. usually you get it 6 months after you choose it. Is it the same in your country?

Congrats to the new approvals, and for everybody who is seeing their SO soon, have a good trip and enjoy it!

Here in the States, I think, you buy the dress of the rack and then get it altered...but don't quote me, I've never been dress shopping (even though I've been a maid of honor twice)...

You're correct and that dress is BEAUTIFUL.

Here in the Philippines, the trend is to rent a gown or to have one tailor made for the bride, both ways it is a lot cheaper that what it will probably cost in the U.S. (well, of course if you don't go to the country's top designer...even if i want to, i'd probably be able to afford the buttons and the thread only so i will go to our local dressmaker and show her picture of the wedding gown design i'd want)

I have been checking weding gowns online and on magazine since we got engaged June of last year but then from engagement-January 3, 2008 i was focused on finding a design fit for a Christian beach wedding but after we made the 360degrees change of plans just first week of january, i've dropped all the wedding planning and gown design searching... i know i need to be back to gown design searching again since i will have one done for me before we leave for the U.S.

I'm envious too since you'll be closer to my SO than I am...and you'll be in England!!! Have a great time with Aidan!!!

dawn, you shouldn't have time getting envious. I'm 100% positive, darren will pass his interview with flying colors so you should be gown shopping by now and be sure to post pics when you find 'THE DRESS'

Dress shopping can be so much fun...or so much aggravation! Many of the stores here stock only sizes 2 and 4...then they measure you and order the dress, and it takes maybe....8-10 weeks for it to come in. If you go to a commerical shop, like David's Bridal, they stock every size and you can try it on. Usually from there alterations, etc are needed.

I got really lucky and my dress fits like a glove, not even 1 single alteration is needed!

I had the opposite problem when I went dress shopping: there were all way too big for me. I seemed like the taylor would have had to cut one third of it :P

Girls, (Sorry Blake, for girls only, just tell Olha to check this ;) ) this sites are the best source of the latest gowns, cakes, hairstyles and also real life wedding ideas.

brides.com

theknot.com

and this one is a great source for big lovely brides. to see picture of big brides looking very very very lovely is truly inspiring. i believe, it is not the size nor the shape nor the age of the bride that will make her beautiful but the love that she holds within her heart... it is love that will make her eyes sparkle and her face radiantly beautiful

lovely larger brides
