Hello all! I am just registering now hoping that when I have a silly question someone can give me some releif or idea of what I am dealing with. I have just finished getting all paperwork together including the forms my fiance needed to sign etc... I am using the checklist to make sure I have all in order and am going to send check and forms to Vermont on Friday or Saturday. Has anyone had any experience with this office? How long did it take to process the forms? When did they get back to you?

I am also wondering about the future and the deal with how much money I make? Anyone know what the guidlines are for income?

Thanks everyone and pray for us!!

Catherine

It looks like Vermont is taking about 4 months to approve petitions but they say that the max is 6 months. Once you get your NOA1 (the notice of receipt) you can use that to sign up on the USCIS website for e-mails when you get approved, or if you get an RFE. Once you get approved, they should send you a second notice in the mail as well.

As long as you make above the poverty level then there is no need to disclose assets, savings, bonds, etc.

Zeenusah is correct in what he says so as long as you make enough to support yourself and your partner when they move over then you are safe. Good luck on your journey :)

Welcome to VJ.

You will find that most members are quite helpful and courteous. Give yourself plenty of lead time to ask questions before you file anything. Make sure you have copies of everything you send to the USCIS. Organize the documentation in logical manner but be concise. For example, 3 to 5 photos are usually sufficient to provide proof of meeting, but are not exclusive. You will need documents showing you with your fiance(ee) during the period you write about in your narrative.

Best of luck and be patient. This is a slow process for most people but ultimately successful. Use the time to make preparations in your home for your new partner.

If you have wages that exceed the poverty guidelines, then only tax returns and copies of W-2's are necessary. However, if you are self employed you will need to provide copies of bank statements showing enough deposits to justify your claims of income on your business schedule. Usually two years is sufficient for documenting income.

Welcome to the waiting room and good luck. VSC seems to be much faster than CSC right now. I wish my case was at VSC, just to speed up the process.
