Hi Everyone,

My fiance and I are so excited to be making our way through this tedious visa process. He is currently going through the medical examination and will soon have his interview at the embassy. Zambia does not require an affadavit of support, instead, just a bank statement from me and a letter from my employer. I am earning more than enough to satisfy the 125% of the poverty line requirement, however I only have about $3000 in the bank. I am a little worried that this will not look good to the immigration people.

Do you think we could be rejected because of this? Have you heard of any cases like this? Maybe I am just nervous and panicking over nothing. After all, we do fit the guidelines.

Any advice is welcome!!

I didn't even report my assets since my income is sufficient. In addition, the consulate only asked for last year's tax return...but I bought 3 years just in case.

Regardless of what they require, I'd have an I-134 and its supporting documents in his hands at interview time to back up your income claims. Three years of tax transcripts showing a good income should overcome any concerns about how much money you have in the bank. Generally, if the income is sufficient, assets are not even disclosed. Certainly fulfill their requirements but have the extra available too.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Morocco doesn't require the affidavit of support either. They are not concerned about what u have in the bank unless you are using them as part of ur income. I just used my income and that was sufficient. No questions asked and AOS approved.
