Hi My Fellow VJers

Would like to receive suggestions (real ones) on gifts that I could give my students and colleagues for Christmas. This gets to be quite expensive for me so quick and inexpensive will be great.

Thanks,

Chispas

I would bake cookies or something. One year at work this girl bought sharpie markers for everyone and put their name on it and tied a candycane to it. Working in a kitchen you always need something to label stuff with and if you let someone borrow yours you never get it back.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

I love the homebaked idea.

For my many bosses and friends here at work this year, I made note cards for all of them. I printed "a note from..(insert name)" on the front of the card and then individually decorated 20 cards and envelopes for each person with paper, stamping, and some embellishments for each person. It was a pretty inexpensive gift.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

I'm with the other people suggesting home made baked goods. A few cookies in a sandwich bag with a ribbon tied is a nice inexpensive gift that most people enjoy.

The standard toll house chocolate chip cookie recipe works good. You can modify it by substituting in white chocolate and macadamia nuts, but those two ingredients jack up costs. Less butter for more chewy cookies.

Brownies also work extremely well. A few well cooked trays of brownies cut up and distributed is wonderful.

For mass gifts to co-workers, associates, etc., I think this is the best route.

Thanks for the suggestions all. Walmart is near here so I can mosey on down there to see what they have.

A 6-Pack of Bud and a box of 9mm for each of them...

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

You could donate to a favorite charity in their name(s).. do one donation for the entire class or a group of teachers perhaps..

or.. I know world vision has a wish book for villages etc. in third world who would love a goat, fishing kit etc. and you can donate to them and they will send the need to the village on your behalf..
