There were a few inaccuracies in that commercial.

- First, the girls were so happy to see the "contract" army guys. Those guys make no money! They would've never left the guy with the nice car to chase after the army guys. (They would've asked him for a ride though.)

-Second, that kind of thing only happens when the American military rolls through!

As long as there are A-10s in the air.... it's best to stay away from anything non-American and armored!

You sure don't see the "Army Strong" girls in the recruitment ads, do you? Probably one of the only things that would help the U.S. military's recruitment go up is if those girls were the recruiters! $30,000 cash still isn't pushing too many too hard. Having Miss Universe stand at the recruiting office just might work! (Especially if she's with four of her friends!)

According to the CIA they still conscript troops. However, the govt. has changed since the fact book was updated so it's very possible they're trying to make the shift to an all-volunteer force. Not likely they'll find the manpower (or cash) for it, but they could be trying. They're probably trying harder to retain troops and NCOs in a contract, not a conscript, status. That's where the girls come in.
