Hello everyone.

This is the first time I am reaching out to everone for their opinon, so I appreciate all of your comments.

I am currently waiting for my NOA 2. I did the RFE trick on 12/10 and received a touch on 12/11. I called back today to inquire about the touch and was told that my K1 is now being reviewed by an officer. The USCIS representative (who was very friendly) said that it will take up to 30 days before hearing an answer.

Does anyone know how long it typically takes for this review? I am hoping sooner than 30 days!!!

Thanks again!

From what I've read, an adjudicator receives a crate full of files (approx. 100-150 files per box I think I heard). They scan them all into the system (resulting in touches for all of them), then start working their way through the crate. So how long it takes between your file being assigned to an adjudicator and approval depends on whether you're at the front of the crate or the back... If you're near the front your approval could be any day now, fingers crossed.

Personally, I think it is a standard "canned" response designed to put a pacifier in the callers mouth....

YMMV

Thank you for your thoughts! I hope you are right and that the files go smoothly! I do think there is definitely some progress since the first time I called they said that it was not with an officer. Today they said it was with an officer! I can only hope they get this batch done quickly without any RFE's!!!

Yes, and it's important to understand that there's more to adjudication than one person looking at a file for a few minutes. There can be multiple steps and multiple people.

Ouch. What a time game. The sad thing is that there is not a whole lot that anyone can do unless it exceeds their "estimated processing times"! What I (and many others) wouldn't pay to expedite the K1! Just imagine the gold mine USCIS would have if the offered expedited K1's!!!

I get the impression they dont' much care if it exceeds them or not. I've exceed their six month estimate and when I called I was simply told to try again in two weeks, and check the website, don't call again, kthxbai.

I'm sure someone has mentioned it before, but did you try calling your congress representative? Or, are they saying 6 additional months from asking for the police report? Why did they ask for the police report? Was it a result of IMBRA? Sorry for the questions, I am just trying to learn more about what to expect... Thanks.

THe police report is part of packet three and takes 40 days to get back, so we filed for it early.

I asked my congressman to look into it and they sent me an email that said an officer had it, sit tight, call back in January if you still don't have it.

I think this is jsut because of the huge july influx- I think a lot of papers got shuffled and moved around and some June files are just lagging.
