Working Hours: The Embassy is open Monday through Friday, except on U.S. and Bolivian holidays.


Non-Immigrant Visas:

Interviews are conducted Monday through Friday by appointment only scheduled through our Call Center.


Diplomatic and Official Visas:

DO NOT schedule your appointment via Call Center. Present the required documents at the Consular Section from 14:30 to 15:30, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. (Domestic employees must schedule the appointment with the call center).


Immigrant Visas:

Interviews are by appointment only, petition filings (I-130) are received Friday from 14:30 to 15:30 and Lost/expired green cards process are received Friday 13:30 to 15:30.

Packet 4 Contents (if known): Packet 4 may arrive electronically via E-mail in the form of a pdf file.

Packet 4 is an informational letter which provides the Case Number along with your Interview date. The list of required documents will help you to prepare for the interview. Useful tips, as well as links to several web sites, can be helpful.

Forms to Consulate? All Applicants who are scheduled for an interview must send the required documents via DHL at least 10 days in advance of the appointment date:

Copy of Biographical page of the Passports(s) valid for six months beyond the intended date of entry into the United States.

Original Police Certificate(s) National Police Certificate from FELCC (Fuerza Especial de Lucha Contra el Crimen).

Original Birth Certificate(s) and a photocopy.

Certificate from REJAP (Registro Judicial de Antecedentes Penales)

Court and prison records, if applicable

Two color photographs

Original Marriage Certificate, if applicable

Divorce Certificate and divorce decree or death certificate of any previous marriage, if applicable.

Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support) plus W2 and 1040 of last year.

Nonimmigrant Visa Application, Form DS-160 plus a copy.

Evidence of relationship with fiance: Photos and all original documents used to establish the relationship between the petitioner and the applicant.

(K-1)Visa fee US $265 payable the same day of the interview at the Consular Office.

NOTE: Sealed envelope with medical examination results are sent directly to the Consular Section from the Medical Examiner.
Other Forms (if any)? Failure to bring a copy of the appointment letter to the interview may delay the interview.

*If you're using co sponsor for K-1, they can ask for the I-864 form to be completed and signed by the co sponsor.

Additional Info? Don't be afraid to contact the La Paz Consular should you have questions prior to your interview. Please keep in mind the Consular Section receives a ton of calls and e-mails every day. Keeping your questions and comments brief will make things easier.

E-mail responses within 12-24 hours.

Phone Operators are very courteous and helpful. If they don't know the answer to your question, they might ask you to call back within a 5-10 minute timeframe.

The Consular needs to know the names of persons coming with the applicant at least two days before the interview date, otherwise they will not be able to enter the Embassy.

Please refer to the Consulate Webpage for information regarding payment of Visa fees. Depending on the type of Visa you are applying for, you may be required to pay your Visa fee at BISA Bank or you might be required to pay for your Visa Application Fee directly at the Consular Section in the Embassy.
