  1. I received a response to an NVC RFE question from the embassy in La Paz that also included the following answer : "We are slowly resuming immigrant visa interviews, but have a significant backlog to process." This is not reflected on the embassy's website so I wouldn't read too much into it; but it does offer a ray of hope after nearly 15 months of no movement at all. And with Bolivia in it's 3rd wave of Covid, I would not expect things to speed up for a while.
  2. My understanding is that this is no longer applicable because the new administration has specifically changed it. **Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
  3. I'd love to know if anything has progressed in your case in recent months.

We're in Bolivia working to get an IR1. Still dealing with NVC at this point.

  4. Perhaps this will help you track when you can hope your case is being looked at by human eyes: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html and go down to "Current case review time".
  5. Folks that have lived in "socialist" nations such as Venezuela, Bolivia and many others would vehemently oppose anything even appearing to "lean heavily left". Don't believe me? Go ask them. Because unless one is hooked into the ruling party, they all know that the rest of society loses, and loses big. It's exactly what Central Americans are leaving behind as they head north in caravans of thousands. It's why Cubans will risk the ocean on a raft. Pretty picture in the short run, disastrous future. Always play the long game and strive for the common good. Why does the world insist on repeating the failed systems of others in their own context? If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is; especially when it comes from a political party. Smart, controlled immigration has always been and will always be necessary in a healthy society that wants to have an identity.
