Working Hours: The U.S. Embassy is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday except on local and U.S. holidays.

Consular personnel are available to answer questions concerning non-immigrant visas by telephone only between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m., and concerning immigrant visas between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Applicants with access to e-mail are advised to contact us at ConsularBridge2@state.gov for queries not answered on this web page.

Best Contact Method: Phone or e-mail.
It is very difficult to get in touch with a "live" person, and when you do they don't seem to want to take the time and properly convey what is needed.
They don't reply to e-mails !

Amanda Hicks, Chief of Non-Immigration VISA Unit, 246-227-4087, amandahicks@state.gov, she doesn't reply nor take calls. (this email address bounced back for me 12/14/2008)
Blaine Kaltman, Lacky, 246-227-4110, he doesn't take calls.
Monica Maxwell, maxwellma@state.gov, Very Nice, 246-227-4110, between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.
Approx Waiting Time for Interview After Consulate Recieves NVC Package: Interview date 6 to 10 weeks in receipt of Packet 3. Barbados capable of mailing packets that get LOST, you may have to request a resend of Packets. Mail from Barbados seems to take a minimum of two weeks to arrive at it's destination within the carribean.
Issues Packet 3?
Packet 3 Contains: Requirement Checklist ( DS-2001 ) with notes
1. General letter
2. DS-230 I, Biographic Data, Part I
3. DS-156 Nonimmigrant Visa Application, 2 Copies (online)
4. DS-156K Nonimmigrant Fiance(e) Visa Application (free to marry), 1 Copy
5. K1/3 DS-156 Instruction sheet

The packet 3 checklist mentions the below items, but they are not included, but maybe should be, "confusing".
DS-2000 Public Charge Evidence document.
I-134 form.
Medical vaccination requirement list.

It seems that Barbados is "inconsistent" with what is sent from case to case, and what is returned from case to case with Packet 3.
Pay attention ! do your research, ask questions.
NOTE: Barbados Embassy is infamous for sending packet 3 documents that never arrive to the beneficiary. Upon Case completion, draft a letter stating that you have all the required documents (police cert, marriage cert, birth cert, proof of relationship) Send it along with a copy of the letter from the NVC noting the case was tranferred, the I134, DS156, DS156K, DS230 to the Embassy. This will expedite the process.
Issues Packet 4? Yes
Packet 4 Contents (if known): As of 1-23-08
1. Letter stating VISA fees ( $131 USD ).
2. Appointment letter.
3. Photo requirement & specification sheet
4. Medical exam instructions, test list, fees with medical facilty address &

5. Medical vaccination requirement list

From previous Packet 4's
1. Requirement checklist with notes
2. VISA mailback procedure letter(No sameday VISA approval unless urgent)
3. Medical history & eyewear requirement letter
4. Hotel list ( must schedule interview 2-3 days before VISA interview )

It seems that Barbados is "inconsistent" with what is sent from case to case, for Packet 4. Pay attention ! do your research ! ask questions !

The "Woman" at the 246-227-4110, is not too friendly or helpful, be prepared !
The Packet 3 instructions state to send back the DS-230 Pt I & the DS-2001 "checklist". The "Woman" tells me to return the two DS-156's with barcodes, signed and dated, & the one DS-156K, signed and dated, but also says they can be brought to the interview, Go figure !!!
