We sat on the benches and lined up a little before 7am, where they had us put our passport, first page of appointment letter, and gave us a number and paper to fill out which requires 3 phone numbers and your email address. If you bring a cell you leave it with your id at security and they give you a number to claim it after the interview. In our case we got number 2. We all went inside after security at about 7am because they said it was cold outside. At 7:30 they explained the process and where everyone should go when called. Immigrant visas get called from windows 5,6,7. The first time they call you up, you hand them papers, they ask you a couple questions, such as if you have kids with your spouse, orgionals of their birth certificates and if you have ever had any tickets or arrests. Do not lie. Then they hand you most of your origional papers and tell you to have a seat. Next when you number is called they will ask you to swear you are telling the truth, take your finger print and begine the interview that last approx. 5 minutes. They will ask you if your spouse is there and if yes ask that you go get them from their seat. They will then ask the spouse questions. I was asked who my sister was, and if we lived in the same house. She was my co sponser and yes we lived together. Then I was asked if we had kids together, when we met, and what language we spoke together. After the interview she handed us a yellow sheet of paper and told us we were qualified to apply for the waiver and to send it to the address listed on the sheet. We were out of their by 9:30am. Bring snacks and drinks with you they do allow it, but we were too nervous to eat. The last process is to file the Hardship waiver I-601. For being in the US illegally for more than a year which places a ten year ban on my husband unless his pardon is approved. If it is approved we mail them my husbands passport and put his visa and sent us a packet we do not open.Praying for an approved waiver!!! Waiver was approved after 5 months and he had to redo a medical appointment and get updated policiacos and penales then he got his visa and went through Dallas immigration and now he is home! 2013-08-10
