After all the messages I've read and preparing for the interview, the experience itself was very good. Had the appointment at 9, so was there at 8.45 and already 4 people in line before me. Had to wait a while to go to the 1st window to give my fingerprints and provide the original birth certificate, police certificate etc., all document were fine so could go back and wait for the actual interview with the consul. Like I already read, its a bit awkward as you can hear all the interviews, so little privacy there. The first guy was interviewing for a long time, as he seemed to have quite a complicated story. The 3 people after that were pretty smooth, just like my case. Questions were: 1. How did you meet your spouse, 2. How did our relationship develop, 3. Where did you get married, 4. Where is your spouse from and 5. Why do we want to move to the US (as we currently live together). Interview went fine and no further questions, only thing is I got a refusal because the medical is sch... read complete review

In and out in 25 mins.
They were all super nice even the security. Normally you hear different stories.
First window asked for all the certificaten ( birth, marriage, police) and where the greencard needed to be send to.
2nd window, the actual interview. Only 2 questions. When did you guys started dating and how serious did you get after your first date?
Done approved!

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Went in there for my K1 visa interview on November 19. I had the interview at 1 pm. I arrived 15 minutes early and I was the first one waiting. After a while we got called up front, one by one. I showed my appointment confirmation and they checked it and let me in. I had binders with me but I had to get all my documents out of my binder. Luckily for me I had a wrapper around all my documents. I found them to be strict but kind. As you pass security you'll go to a first desk where you have to give your passport and DS160. They put a sticker on your passport for once they send the visa back to you. I was first so I was also called first to the next window where I had to give all of my forms they request for on the checklist you receive in the mail. After that you sit down and wait to hear your name being called. I think I waited 15 minutes for my name to be called. They asked me a few questions about how we met, when we got engaged, if my now husband has ever visited me and why not. Thos... read complete review

My appointment was on February 25th 2020 at 1PM. I arrived at the consulate around 12:30 and sadly wasn't allowed to go inside yet despite how cold it was. I had to wait in line outside of the building for half an hour and got to chat with the other people waiting for a while. A little after 1, we were called to the window where we had to show our passports. My mom was the one who drove me to the consulate since I don't have a license but because I'm over 21, she wasn't allowed to accompany me, which makes sense I guess.

Once inside, I had to take off my coat and the people who'd brought their bags had to show the contents. It was basically like airport security but a LOT stricter. The people there weren't friendly at all which scared me and everyone else there a bit.

Next, I had to go to the interview room. I showed a lady behind a desk my passport, passport photos and DS-120. I then sat down and waited til the lady at window #2 called my name. I handed ... read complete review

It's never going to be a fun experience, but all in all it wasn't bad. Friendly people, from security to interviewer. Just make sure you have all your stuff in order, that's up to you.

The downside is how they schedule their appointments. If you get an interview appointment, it'll probably say it's scheduled at 1PM. That's because everyone's interview is scheduled at the same time (or so it seems). I was there at 12:45, was the 3rd one to get in and probably the 10th to walk out at 14:45. About 5-10 minutes of that was actual contact with someone, the rest is just waiting.

Not knowing how their system works, it does feel like this process could be way more efficient.
