My appointment was on February 25th 2020 at 1PM. I arrived at the consulate around 12:30 and sadly wasn't allowed to go inside yet despite how cold it was. I had to wait in line outside of the building for half an hour and got to chat with the other people waiting for a while. A little after 1, we were called to the window where we had to show our passports. My mom was the one who drove me to the consulate since I don't have a license but because I'm over 21, she wasn't allowed to accompany me, which makes sense I guess.

Once inside, I had to take off my coat and the people who'd brought their bags had to show the contents. It was basically like airport security but a LOT stricter. The people there weren't friendly at all which scared me and everyone else there a bit.

Next, I had to go to the interview room. I showed a lady behind a desk my passport, passport photos and DS-120. I then sat down and waited til the lady at window #2 called my name. I handed her my police vertificate (VOG), birth certificate and I-134 + tax returns for both my fiancé and co-sponsor. My fiancé has never been required to file taxes because he's never made enough money, so instead he wrote a signed letter addressing this, which was completely fine. I was given a pamphlet that explained a lot about immigrant abuse and the different immigration visas, which I read while waiting another 30 minutes.

I was then called to window #4, where I had my final interview, completely in English. I had to swear that everything I said during the interview was the truth. The interviewer was very nice and she asked some basic questions, like how we met, when we met in person, my intention of immigrating and where I'd live and work in the future. She immediately told me I was approved and told me I'll receive my passport and visa back in about 5 work days.

I was at the consulate for about 2 hours in total, which wasn't as long as I expected. I do have to mention I was one of the first people to be called to the window though. Overall it wasn't a terrible experience, but especially the security and the strict atmosphere were a bit nerve-wrecking for me. The ladies in the interview room were all incredbly nice and patient.
