My fiancé @Dr Love has been trying to get on the site but he is experiencing some very debilitating adds. They pop up and there is no x to click, no way to close them again. He can hit the back button but the add just pops up again and again. He has to literally close the website and re-enter again. But the add keeps coming up every 3 or 4 clicks. It's always the same Amazon giftcard add. It's becoming so annoying he is using the website less and less.

He uses an I-phone and is on his wifi in the US, not sure if that is important. I never had this happen before but I use a Samsung and computer/laptop in the Netherlands. I have noticed an increase in the in-message adds. Not amazon related but random.

Could say they are designed to strengthen our perserverence and prepare us for trying to get through to the NVC!!

I get them too... sometimes. regularly  other times just infrequently.

There is  an ongoing thread that is monitered by one of the mods. . search under pop ups

We need all the strength and perseverance we can get for this journey. It sure builds character I can tell you that!

Thank you for the tip about the other thread. I knew about that problem a while back but I thought it had been fixed. The topic was over two months old so I thought it be better to make a new one. If the mods prefer they can merge the threads.

Captain Ewok will probably fix it soon. It is the Amazon Gift Card ad, right? It Usually happens with iOS and Chrome and Safari. You can try using another browser like Opera in the mean time.

I will tell him to try a chrome browser on his phone. Hope that will fix it.

That's not an add, it's a phishing attempt.

I would recommend firefox. I have the same issue as your fiance and for me it's way worse on Chrome than on firefox. I get attacked on Chrome every single time I get on visajourney whereas I've only had it on firefox a couple of times.

Thank you. I'm pretty sure he told me he used Safari. But I'll tell him to try Opera or Firefox.

I used to get these a lot with Safari. The suggestion is to turn on the built in pop up blocker and fraudulent website warnings for Safari. It helps with some of the pop ups, but not all. Trying other browsers is an option but they are not immune to all the problems.

As a general rule, dont even click on the X or close or any other button on these pop ups. All the button does is execute the script that the "author" wants the button to run. "Close" may not mean close the window. It could just as easily mean "download malicious content onto your device". More of a problem with PC and Android than IOS, but there are so many exploits out there, and some of these hackers put a lot of time into this.

Other than that report things here and captain Ewok usually finds the culprit. It looks like it may be an ongoing problem though,
