Interview complete, Medical Exam pending.... Is she approved?

Hey all, my fiancee had her interview today. We're not sure if she passed it or not. The reasoning is the only approved MD is out of the country and could not do the medical before the interview. At the end of the interview, she was handed a sheet that indicated she needs to complete her Medical, and mail it along with her passport to the embassy. Does this mean she passed the interview pending the medical exam results? This is very stressful and suspenseful as you can imagine. By the way, her Medical exam is scheduled 2 weeks from today.

Thanks for your advice,

Paul

What did they tell you at the end of the interview? Not keeping her passport is not a good sign if all they needed was the medical.

They told her she will need her passport in case she needed to travel before then and also for the Medical (the office needs it).

She is not approved because the visa is not yet approvable until the medical report is submitted.  Then and only then can they make a decision

YMMV

Thanks Payxibka, I know they can't approve it yet but what I'm trying to figure out is if she passed the interview or not. If she failed, would they even make her go through the trouble of doing a Medical? Thanks again, Paul

Most likely but nothing is guaranteed.  AP is still a possibility depending on what the Embassy needs to do to close the file

Until the medical is complete, her visa application is not in a state where they can make a decision if she is eligible for the visa. So yes, they can still make you do the medical even if they are aware of an ineligibility.

That said, I suspect they would probably tell her if there was another issue that they were already aware of (not a valid relationship or something). Note that they can find an issue at any point up until they issue the visa, including in some final checks they will likely do after getting the medical report.
