only EAD

advance parole is filed separately once you have a current EAD

DACA recipients have more stricter requirements to travel and have to justify travel.

I wouldn't travel since the President canceled DACA but, you have the chance to renew it because of a judge.

What does USCIS give them?

Piece of paper stating they have EAD or do they issue them a card with picture on it similar to a GC with EAD on it?

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

an EAD card,  immigration is allowing DACA recipients to renew their work permit, not new DACA recipients

the  EAD for a DACA recipient is always a card with ones photo ID, to temporarily live and work legally in the country for 2 years and needs to be renewed every 2 years

Outdated information . USCIS has stopped accepting all advance parole applications from DACA recipients since they announce the end of DACA

Great Answers

I by chance hired an new employee last week who is DACA.  He has EAD only, and it specifically says on the card not good for re entry into the USA.

you are correct

all ead say that, no matter what type of petition it is, DACA or not

the ead is the work permit and permission to travel and live inside the US

the Advance parole is the travel permit to travel abroad

it does come in a combo card for those that qualify

but the EAD is for in the US, the AP is for travel, even though it comes in a combo card, the forms for each are filed separately

the i765 is for the EAD, the i131 is for Advance parole

if you don't file for both you will only get one of them. DACA recipients only file for the i765, the EAD. they can't travel anymore, but when they could, they would file for the Advance parole separately, only to travel and receive a separate card

the ones that receive a combo card are those that can adjust status in the US, and can file the forms at the same time

to obtain DACA, only the EAD is required
