USCIS sent back my I-129f package for having an outdated form. It sounds like they're stating that it's the I-129f form that's outdated but it doesn't expire until 2018? I noticed the E-Notification I sent was outdated but I couldn't find any other version and I also sent the G-325a as well and have been informed that those aren't needed now?? They are letting me send it back as soon as this is fixed.

Please help?!

The dates on the forms are more for their interest than yours, it's for their internal business. You should instead check this list to see if your form is still valid or not. You should ALWAYS use the form you find on their website the day you submit your form, even if it sometimes says that the old form is still valid I have seen quite a few cases where the old form still wasn't accepted. It doesn't matter if the form seems to have a date that has already expired, if the form is on their website on the day you submit your application then it's perfectly fine to use still.

Also, some people have had their forms rejected because they were printed out in the wrong format. I for example printed forms from my Swedish laptop and the American paper isn't the same size as we use in Sweden, so the settings were off. The forms came out looking a little strange but not THAT noticable, luckily we did notice before sending them. I'm not saying that's what happened in your case but people should keep an eye on that too just to be on the safe side.

@Scandi is the i-290B the updated version of the E-Notification? Thank you for your response, it's very helpful

@Scandi I printed mine from Britain and the paper is longer but they did not say anything about that?

The E-notification form is called G-1145.

@Scandi I apologize, I only had a scim through the form. The i-290B wouldn't be relevant to me right? It says for attorney use on the top. I will look for the updated E-Notification

The rejection notice only shows "outdated form" even if you used the right form and the printing format is wrong. They don't have a generic option for "printing format is wrong".

No. I went through the K-1 process myself and have never heard of that form, so pretty sure it's not something you need. :P

@Scandi I'm in the uk right now so I'm  not sure what my other options could be :/ my mom offered to call them and ask but I'm not sure if she could get ahold of them.

Yes I had never heard of that form either so it threw me off 😛

Would ordering a reem of US Letter sized paper from amazon.co.uk work, if you change your printer settings?

I changed the settings on my laptop to fit American sized papers. But not sure how to do it the other way around, you obviously don't have American sized papers so to change the settings the way I did might not work. I assume you use A4 sized papers in England too the way we do i Sweden? The American ones are a funny size, shorter and wider. It didn't work at all on my laptop before I changed the settings, the very bottom part of the form was halfway outside the paper for some reason.

@Scandi yes I did mine on A4 also. I know, I printed the form out while in the US because I was going to hand write it at first but a lot of stuff was cut off. I've looked into paper size and people have said the size doesn't matter and long as all info is shown on the paper.

My i-765 was actually rejected because it was printed wrong, however, the reasonon the rejection notice said "outdated form". The reason I know it was rejected because of the print is becajse I did use the absolute latest form when I filed so there was no issue with it being outdated at all, and I then printed from my husband's American PC and it looked different from my print out. My print had slipped down, so there was a lot of white space on the top of the paper and nothing left at all at the bottom, there were small remarks made by USCIS at the bottom too, drawn lines and stuff. So I printed from his PC instead, sent it back (exact same form, exact same info) and it was accepted without issues.

But yeah, if you don't think the formatting is an issue and if you used the right form then all you can do is send it back again and hope they accept it this time.

@Scandi I can't believe they rejected you for the size of the paper. I'm sorry they did that. I'm not sure what they expect you to do if you aren't in the US. I found an updated version of the e-notification so I'll print that and send it. Should I removed the g-325a since they are not required now?

It wasn't the size of the paper, it was the settings on my laptop combined with the size of the paper that made the print come out wrong. If the print had looked right it wouldn't have been an issue with whatever sized paper I had used, I'm sure.

You can remove the g-325a yes, since you have to use the latest form of the i-129f now and that one doesn't require a g-325a. You can see that all the questions you have on the g-325a are also on the i-129f nowadays.
