Not really asking for advice, just more of a support group lol. I've been waiting a week on AP now since I got a 221g for a missing document (original copy of my birth certificate). Interview went well regardless, consul told me I was pretty much approved unless they find something they don't like in my birth certificate (which I highly doubt since my BC is legit and has gotten me a US student visa and US tourist visa before).

Anyway, just wondering if anyone out there is in the same boat and waiting for an update? I'm from the Philippines, but it doesn't really matter where you're from, as long as you're feeling what I'm feeling (aka impatient lol). Would be great to have some sort of community while waiting this out. Long distance is killing me and I really just wanna buy tickets to the US already, and know that I'll be seeing my fiance for real on a specific date!

While I am not from the Phillipines.  I have been in AP since my interview on Nov 28th it has been 54 days and counting.  The time that passes without any update in status is just fustrating.

Oh dear! Did you also get a 221g? How did your interview go? I can only imagine how it can be very frustrating to be waiting that long!

Yes I received a 221g on Nov 28th at my interview. I think my interview went ok. The CO asked lots of questions about how my family feels about my relationship and why there was a gap in between one of visit. They asked about my sons medical history as it related to the time gap. At the end the CO said all was fine and handed me the 221g and I have been waiting ever since. I emailed the embassy and all I receive is message that say your case requires administrative review and you will be contacted once it has been completed.

What was the 221g that you got for? Were you able to send the documents they needed right away?

I'm sure you'll be fine. I also have read many cases here where they took over 50 days in AP, but ended up in the US just the same! The wait must be excruciating, though. I feel ya!

They did not ask for anything at all. The paper just said additional processing needed. I am starting to lose some faith that it will happen anytime soon. As I have read about people in AP for up to 28 month from Bangladesh.

That's so strange. I'd always thought that 221g meant further documents needed! I do hope you get an update soon. Uncertainty can sometimes be the worst.

Thread is moved from the K-1 Process forum to the Waivers/AP forum.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Does 221g normally result in longer waiting periods? I was told to wait at least 180 days (6 months) before calling to check status.   Today is our halfway mark. Anyone else having the same experience?

I hear the wait can sometimes be long. I have not heard about waiting 180 days before getting an update. I email my embassy once so far and that was around day 45. I will send another email on day 60 as I have read that you are suppose to wait 60 days as most cases are completed by then. Which I believe is not correct as I have read about some case stay in AP up to 28 months.

Thanks for the information. My case was returned to uscis by nvc for second review for possible revocation or reaffirmation. So does this time frame still apply?

HI Rosekyle12345,

how did you send the additional docs that the embassy were asking for? Can we send from US directly to the US embassy address? Hopefully you can help me. I have the docs ready but I'm afraid how and where to send it. The email that I received from embassy is not complete on how to send the docs, they're just asking for the documents.

Did they give you a 221g letter? If not, I think I've read somewhere in this forum that you can use the email you got as in lieu of the 221g (best to call the USEM to make sure though). You will submit that along with your documents at any 2GO branch here in the Philippines. Unsure whether or not you can send it directly from the US. I think you may have to send it to your fiance/e (I'm assuming he/she is in the Philippines?) and he/she will have to send it via 2GO. 2GO will send it directly to USEM free of charge. I don't think there is another way to send directly to the USEM, as they go through 2GO for everything.
