Hello all,

Has anyone here tried "side loading" their CR1 RFE? If so, can you share any positive or negative outcomes as well as opinions please?

Thank you very much.

P.S:  Side loading we are thinking of is including our boarding passes for our trips we have taken after submitting our CR1, nothing else really.

Sorry my bad, we are waiting for the RFE to arrive. Just trying to be somewhat prepared for it that is all.

No problem, since you don't know what the RFE is for, and it might be for more evidence, so then you can gather whatever else you have since you filed the CR1.

Will do for sure!

Between us, our CR1 went in a box -- it weighed close to a newborn one of my friend's had :D

It took me 2.5 months to create, collect, color copy, organize, triple check everything. Let us see what is heading our way, I will keep you all posted. *crosses fingers*

Wouldn't hurt to wait a handful of days for the RFE to arrive. You'd know for sure what to respond to at that time.

Remember, it's quality over quantity.

Totally agree with you. I will summon my long lost patience and wait ??

One thing is you know they are working on your case!! Good luck that it's a simple RFE

Yes, we are facing the bright side of things! Thank you so much, it means a lot to share this with people who can understand. Now, I'll be stalking the postman ??

Alrighty, RFE is in hand now. So, our marriage certificate was not enough, we also need to supply the USCIS with something called a Memorandum of Marriage. Neither of us know what the heck this is, so he will go to the courthouse where we got married and figure it out, but there is more....

The last line of the RFE is, "For immigration purposes in addition the required evidence listed above, you should also submit photographs taken during your religious marriage ceremony and celebration."

We had a court marriage and did not have a religious marriage ceremony. What is the best way of approaching this without over complicating it or falling into the TMI pit? Just say, we had a court marriage, hence we have no pictures? Or..?

Thanks everyone!

P.S: In the CR1 package, for the marriage bona fides, I have included copies of my boarding passes (3 trips from US), our boarding passes/bus tickets/hotel receipts while we traveled together in India, life insurance policy, credit cards under my account with hubby's name, copy of my 401K showing that he is the beneficiary -- then as a secondary I put in about 30-40 pictures from each trip (4-5 pics per page and duplex printed), array of chats starting from the beginning (4 per page and duplex printed), copy of the entire skype phone call logs.

Hello VJers -- so, we have ended up with a RFE and we are asked for a Memorandum of Marriage. In our CR1 package, we included a copy of our marriage certificate as this is the only thing we were handed at the courthouse.

So, a bit confused about this Memorandum of Marriage thing -- what on earth is it? Where do you get this? Has anyone seen one? What is the purpose of it? Can we acquire a copy of ours after all this time? What if we cannot get it?

Thanks bunches!

Ok - correction, we have submitted our "Certificate of Registration of Marriage" which is not considered a Marriage Certificate by USCIS, but this is all we got from the court house.

It has our pictures, our names, our parents' names, our addresses, ages, date of births, date and place of where the marriage was registered, a Registrar Hindu Marriage-Fifth seal, name of the Hindu Marriage registrar, his signature and his seal number.

Has anyone else been in this predicament?
