Arriving on a K1 - Indirect flight

Hi,

I've had a quick look and couldn't see this question anywhere, so apologies if it has been asked and answered already.

I'm arriving on my K1 visa from UK (where I live and where I'm from), on Jan 17th. I'm landing in Philadelphia before getting a connecting flight to Baltimore. Does anyone know if I will have all my paperwork checked in Philly or not until I get to Baltimore. It doesn't matter that much except I guess it may mean I miss my connecting flight. Anyone else arrived at an airport which wasn't their final destination? What happened?

Thanks in advance. This website has been so good to me and my fiance on our journey :-)

Your paperwork will be done/taken at your PoE, which in this case would be Philadelphia

If you haven't already I suggest reading the reviews for your poe.

I've heard of hours of delay at various POEs. If you don't have at least 4 hours between flights you might have issues. Not only do you have processing but time for lines if there are many international flights arriving around the same time if you explain this to the airline in advance they will most likely waive any change fees. Just my opinion after going through immigration checks at many airports in the US.

Thanks to all who have replied. I have about 1.5 hours between arrival and connecting flight. However, I am on a stand-by ticket so it won't be difficult to change once I arrive in Philadelphia. I have read the reviews of Philadelphia as a POE and it seems times have varied from 'over 4 hours' to '45 minutes' so I guess it will depend on how many other flights are arriving at a similar time.

Either way, I will be arriving on the 17th and I can't wait! :-)
