OK to Cruise to Bahamas with NOA for AOS? [split topic]

She needs AP if she's leaving the US (which I'm assuming going to the Bahamas she would be leaving the US) otherwise she won't be able to re-enter. You'd have to file for a spousal visa and start from scratch.

Exactly. It doesn't matter if you need a passport to go to the Bahamas or not. What matters is re-entering the US. Without an AP, she won't be able to do that.

She needs to re-enter the US. Without AP, she won't be able to do that. She'd be stuck outside, the AOS denied for abandonment and you'd have to file for a spousal visa for her which takes a year to get.

No passport required for US citizens. For them some other proof of citizenship is enough.

Definitely passport is required for non-US citizens.
