CONCERNED WITH THE I-130 PROCESSING TIME in NEBRASKA

Not sure if I am looking at this chart correctly, but I am a little concerned.

My wife is in Guyana our petition was received and, I believe, now in Nebraska even though the petition was sent to Chicago. So, my wife has those days when she fears this process will take forever and I am always trying to find some positives to calm her fears. I told her that from all accounts, it appears to be a 6 month process to the NVC and then, I guess another few weeks or 90 days to the interview date. Starting in May 2015, I guess we are looking at as early as December (2105) and as late as Jan-Feb (2016), before it is all said and done. That's probably me and wishful thinking IF this chart is any indication.

Instead of a time frame, it gives the last date of the last petition they have worked on and it is January or LAST year. That does not sound good unless I am looking at this incorrectly. This is for the I-130.

Ok so I'm not crazy. I just saw the same thing and called. Rep said it was correct but I know she was just reading off a script. I'm hoping it's incorrect but I don't know. Up until today it has always said 5 months.

I do see alot of February filers being approved but this has really scared me. 1 of the reasons I believe it may be a mistake is a few months ago our category wasn't even listed and then the next month it was back on. i called then too and they didn't know what's going on.

Thanks, Kamw. You're doing the Jamaica thing, huh? How is it down in my old neck of the woods of SoFla?

Anyway, are you saying that you have checked that chart before and saw it was ALWAYS 5 months? Now it is showing they are only on petitions from early LAST year? How did they go backwards or it is really a mistake? Let's hope it is because the site says when you see that, this means the center is experiencing a DELAY.

Where are you seeing the February filers being approved?

Yup.. It's hot-as always. Funny I'm trying to decide it I should abandon SoFla for NYC. Might be up that way as soon as this process is over.

I check the chart when it's updated- have been doing so since January. January- march it said 5 months. In April it completely disappeared and no one knew why. Like that line just disappeared. Multiple people called and they couldn't explain what happened. May it showed back up as 5 months and that's what it said for June too.

I joined a thread for February filers (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/535973-february-2015-ir-1-cr-1-filers/page-51#entry7726812) and there have been alot of approvals in the last couple weeks.

I believe it's just a mistake and my fingers are crossed that I get approved soon.

Good Luck- and can you tell your wife to bring me some chow mein, pholourie and cheese straw when she come? I love Guyanese food.

Keeping fingers crossed it is just a mistake! Maybe NE will start transferring some applicatins to CA if they are literally that backed up! I can't believe it though, there has been a lot of February filers approved this month. 50 days down at NE, almost made it a solid to 2 months, was hoping for only 3 more to go.

Just talked to Rep and she mentioned that's what the screen is reading January 2014. I almost had a fit. I would like to know if anyone (now or in past) heard of anything like that. Rep mentioned that it could be a mistake and if it it will be fixed in next few days.

I really hope that it is a mistake since I do see some people from February are being approved.

Prayers and strength for all who are in the process.

I saw this as well and to be honest, I about had an anxiety attack! I check it every few weeks since we filed at the end of April and it always said the 5 month or so wait time. I find it hard to believe they are that backed up all of a sudden when I've seen others who have applied after January 2014 get approved. Praying hard that this is a terrible computer glitch and we all can breathe a little easier through this waiting game. BEST WISHES TO EVERYONE!!

I am in california.Shocked at the nebraska service center.Called the uscis 2-3 times. Every rep said its not mistake, they are backlogged to January 2014 which is big shock. asked why my case is in nebraska as I am in california and california has its own service center, rep said they can assign any centers. All 3 reps asked to call after 18 months!!!! I got divorced earlier due to priority date jumping back and I had told otherwise to my ex on estimated time to immigrate. Now again, here we go.again with nebraska

Has anyone filed for k3 for wife?lawyers earlier said its useless, don't file it. may be now the situation is different. I have also heard cases being transferred to california center after 4 months, just can pray mine also gets transferred. So not sure.what to do.Please guide, My priority is June 1,2015 for wife and i am us citizen. I believe k3 will be good option at this time as it may take 7-8 months only

I've heard k3 will slow you down.

The reps are, for lack of a better word, idiots. In March NSC didn't have i130's filed by USC listed when the new processing time came out. A lot of us started panicking because we thought we were being transferred and delayed. I called and was told "NSC no longer handles those petitions". When I asked where my petition was they didn't know. I asked if we were being transferred they didn't know. I spoke to 3 people and other February filers called and got no info. We decided to wait until the April update and lo and behold it was back and showed 5 months in April.. They read from the same site we visit and cannot atrY from their script. Wait till mid August when it updates again and then take action based on that. Also check Igor's list- it keeps track of who's been approved recently so you can see it's still running at 5 months..
