I94 expiry date affect AOS/EAD?

Sorry if asked/ answered in prior posts but my day started and ended badly.

Started with EI/ Service Ontario but that is for another day.

Simple things like buying stamps is an ordeal. Got to go to an actual post office to get stamps to mail to Canada!!! What??!!!

Went to the CA DMV this afternoon to get a STATE ID but was basically told that since my I94 expiration date is soon ( jun 29) , they can't give me the ID. I did not see on their site anything about I94 needs to be valid within x amount of time . Also they did not have machines that could read the new Cdn passports so it would take about 4-6 wks for them to call ( others/ me) to verify my identify. Sigh.

(Side note: I was told if using I94 as your legal presence proof, your STATE ID or CA DL would only be valid until the I94 is valid. So I really don't understand why anyone would get a DL for that short amoount of time even if one applied for it as soon as they landed)

I checked the USCIS site and found that I94 for K1 are not extendable.

Sooooooooooo.. since the I94 expiry date was a showstopper for that, it got me thinking if it affects any other thing.

I have met the requirement for the K1 visa ( expiry Jun 19) as I am now married.

I will be hopefully submitting my AOS/EAD package within the next 2 wks ( why not now is a long story) , which will be well before either K1 or I94 expires.

I should be ok if/when my applications are in 'in process' status if/when either expiration date comes around, correct? Is there anything else that I need to know about this I94 ( or K1 visa ) expiry date?

You will likely need your EAD in order to obtain a California ID card, or at least one that has an expiration date that isn't tied to your I-94, as you indicated.
