Is this kind of AP normal?

So she was approved at the interview, CO told her congratulations, your are approved, took her passport , gave her coupon to collect passport back, took her number , explained how to collect passport back, what to do with sealed envelope....

The CEAC changed to Administrative Processing same day, which I know is normal after approval but it hasnt had any uodates, hasn't changed to nonimmigrant from immigrant and has been one week since interview.

Is it also normal?

Does it have to change several times before changing to issued or Can it go from the current status to Issued directly?

Is it possible that they might be needing anything from us? How would they let us know if they do. CO made clear at interview that they don't need anything else?

Give it a few more days and then enquire with the embassy. When was she told to collect the passport?

Check the waiver/ap forum the see if you can find examples of other Kuwait cases. I know that certain countries, mainly Mahgreb, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Yemen etc are prone to longer APs in some cases - these would usually get separately notified however. And it typically hits male beneficiaries worse.

I do not know if Kuwait is among those countries - but given that your fiancee was told everything looks okay, I would not worry.

There is no normal when it comes to these MENA countries other than to expect A P. Its simply another step of the process now or so it seems.

There have been many cases here on V J from Mena countries that went from A P to issued. In your case I think its just the phase where they have to verify her name ect. How long? I don't think anyone knows that.

Its possible they would create an RFE ( request for evidence ) but if there was something missing she would have been told & issued a 221g. That's why he told her what he did.

A P is very difficult to endure due to lack of info. All you can do is wait.
