How relevant is the financial status of the foreign fiance(e) to a K1 visa? Can it happen that they refuse a K1 visa because the foreigner has no documented money? (There IS money, just not in the banks due to the unreliable nature of the banks in this country, and so therefore it is awfully hard to prove a penny of it is real. Even I would risk putting 62,000 in a Serbian bank.)

Not for the fiancée visa. You have to meet income requirements or get a co-sponsor, but I haven't seen anything that we have to provide the beneficiary's financial position.

They do not care if the foreign fiance has money or even a job. It is completely irrelevant.

They are looking at whether or not the US petitioner has enough means to support the foreign fiance.

Assets mean nothing for K1 Visa applicant.

Proof of income is NOT needed for the I-129F package. You will need that later on at the embassy stage of the process, which is after your I-129F is approved.

During our entire K1 visa processing, they never asked for financial details of the foreign beneficiary.

Only the USC's financial standing matters.

K1 visa is a 2 part processing.

USC submits I-129F and once that's approved,

the foreign beneficiary finishes the K1 visa processing with the local embassy.

So during I-129F no financial proof is needed,

but you will need those for second part (K1 visa) processing later.

So it's good to start studying and preparing that evidence.

The US government doesn't keep track of your debts, so no you are fine. Debt to income which would matter for say a mortgage loan, doesn't mean a thing for visa.

Yeah, USCIS doesn't really care about foreign beneficiary's financial status at all,

unless somehow it is linked to some sort of criminal activity.
