How does NVC Confirm Receipt?

I received a notice from USCIS on March 6 that my case was forwarded to the NVC. This is quite different from saying that the NVC received the case. I can't find any information on how the NVC will notify me that they received the case (or that they will notify me at all).

Should there be a 2-week-plus lag time between USCIS sending the case and NVC receiving it?

Is my only option to harass NVC with phone calls to find out the status and confirm receipt?

yup, use a telephone.

i say once a week, thursday evenings, circa 21:30 to 22:00, EST.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thanks for the quick answer, Darnell!

If it's already been over 3 weeks since NOA2, and State is doing all these things without notifying me, is there a chance the case has already been received and sent to the foreign consulate?

nope.

---

to make yer phone call meaningful,

ask (until you get it):

1. What's the consular casefile number? I understand this starts with 'GUZ'

2. What's the Beneficiary Identification Number? I need this for ustraveldocs processing.

---

when you know the GUZ # - set up an account over at CEAC and ustraveldocs.com/cn

---

casefile movement is a problem for GUZ, casefile USAGE at GUZ is hit or miss, sometimes they rely solely on the SAFEFILE version of the casefile (NVC makes this, all cases, all types) because of the casefile movement problem.

'case move forward' ? what ?

look - the casefile has to get into NVC,

NVC does their stuff with it, and once they are done,

it gets out to Guangzhou IV.

I don't know what you can do, to make the case move forward, unless it's been 6 months since last uscis sent it out the door.

NVC is really good about moving the casefile through the queue and doing their stuff.

Sorry, I suppose I'm confusing two things - visibility of the process and the process itself.

The fact that there's less visibility (or a different kind of it) gave me the false impression that nothing is happening unless I'm calling and getting this info.

na - shift a bit.

the casefile needs a consular casefile # assigned,

plus scanning into the SAFEFILE file retrieval system.

NVC does that.

Once they are finished, they schlep it off to GUZ IV.

Sometimes, a letter or email is sent to the Petitioner , but it's not 100 percent reliable, so I never mention it. If you get it, it has the consular casefile #.

Since people can get the consular casefile # via telephone, I (instead) recommend folksen to get the # via telephone. Sure, it's a hassle, but with the GUZ # and BIN, you can move forward at ustraveldocs.com/cn - do silly things like paying the visa fee at CITIC bank, self-scheduling an interview, without much GUZ IV Involvement (folk like to wait for P3 and instructions with GUZ IV, but even that is some trouble to get/receive)
