Hello, I just want to ask. Is the greencard enough evidence in applying social security number? Or do I need any other documents? Thank you in advance for your answers. :-)

Hi, so I applied ssn 2 weeks ago, and until now I have not receive the card yet. If I will go to their office and ask for the social security number (not the card) do you think they will give it to me? Did anybody here try to do the same thing, successfully?

Thank you.

I had the same problem. I went there but he would not give the SSN to me due to "security reasons". You might have better luck.

Please ensure your name is registered to your address. If you are not registered the mail man might send your SSN back and it will get destroyed. Then you'll have to reapply (but will only take a week this time). Call your local SSA office and ask. And if you need to reapply just add the owner of the place where you live as a C/O. Worked for me. Good luck! :)
