We have just received our appointment information in the mail for my husband's biometrics for the adjustment of status. My question is what happens after the biometrics appointment to adjust status for a 10 yr green card? Aren't we supposed to have an interview?

We have just received our appointment information in the mail for my husband's biometrics for the adjustment of status. My question is what happens after the biometrics appointment to adjust status for a 10 yr green card? Aren't we supposed to have an interview?

After the biometrics, you'll have to wait for an interview letter in the mail or there will be a status change update online. If you also filed EAD and AP with your AOS, then after biometrics, you'll wait for those also to get approved and get your EAD/AP card in the mail. My husbands biometrics was done 2 months ago, but so far we are still waiting for an update about the interview. His EAD/AP card on the other hand is already with him.

K-1 Journey:

June 17, 2010: Arrived for second in-person meeting and start of travel together to other areas of China!

September 1, 2010: Switched course from K1 to CR-1
December 8, 2010: Wedding date set; it will be on February 18, 2011!
February 9, 2011: Depart for China
February 11, 2011: Registered for marriage in Wuhan, officially married!!!
February 18, 2011: Wedding ceremony in Shiyan!!!
April 22, 2011: Mailed I-130 to Chicago
April 28, 2011: Received NOA1 via text/email, file routed to CSC (priority date April 25th)
April 29, 2011: Updated
May 3, 2011: Received NOA1 hardcopy in mail
July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

After the biometrics appointment if you have sufficient evidence then you get approved and your husband will receive his 10 years green-card. If what you sent is not enough then you will receive a request for evidence--from there if they are not still satisfied with your evidence both of you have to attend an interview at your local field office. If you followed VJ guidelines for what to submit you'll probably either get the 10 year GC without any sort of notification or you might get randomly selected to have an interview regardless of what you submitted. We're shooting 2/2 without getting an RFE from following VJ's guides! Best of luck to you. :)
