how long do I have to wait to get case number?

I'm so curious at this point,my case has been sent to nvc since 6th march 2014 still no case number after calling nvc.how long more do I need to wait or what can I do next?thanks in advance for your reply fellow vjers.

I just got mine. Waited over a month. Since yours got to NVC before me I'm sure you'll be getting it any day now

02/04/2014 I-130 sent

02/05/2014 Priority date

02/10/2014 NOA 1 received by mail

03/05/2014 I-130 approved/ NOA 2

03/12/2014 NVC Received

04/15/2014 case # & IIN # assigned

04/15/2014 received DS-261/ I-864 bill invoice

04/16/2014 pay I-864

04/16/2014 filled up and submitted DS-261

04/21/2014 I-864 fee shows PAID

04/22/2014 received IV bill invoice thru e-mail but not ready to pay yet

04/24/2014 sent AOS package

04/24/2014 payed IV fee..Finally :dancing: :joy:[/color] :dancing:

04/25/2014 IV fee debited from my account

04/28/2014 AOS received ny NVC

04/30/2014 send IV packet thru USPS express mail..

05/06/2014 AOS & IV package being reviewed

05/21/2014 received checklist for AOS financial evidence proof of employment

05/29/2014 received checklist AGAiN for financial evidence which I already sent. Called NVC and asked, they said they havn't received any mail yet.

06/02/14 NVC NVC scanned checklist for AOS

07/07/14 CASE COMPLETE!!!! Wooohoooo!!! :)

07/10/14 received interview e-mail letter

08/07/14 INTERVIEW DATE (to be rescheduled after two months for sputum culture)

07/14/14 medical at st. Lukes but need to do sputum test on July 30,31, & Aug 1.

07/30/14 1st day sputum test

07/31/14 2nd day sputum

08/01/14 3rd day sputum

10/01/14 called St. lukes Hosp. For sputum results.... ? praise GOD NEGATIVE

10/01/14 called US Embassy manila to schedule an interview (10/21/14 interview date)

10/21/14 INTERVIEW DATE..... APPROVED!!!

11/09/14 ARRIVAL in the USA!!!! Yoohooo!!!???

If it was sent on the 6th of March, When did NVC receive your case? Just give it about 25 to 35 days from the day it was received by NVC.

Mine sent on February and they still didn't receive it yet. its over two months since they shipped it, and over three months since the approval notice.

This is weird, did you call USCIS to confirm if they really shipped it out? And did u also called NVC? Looking at your timeline you should have gotten case complete by now.

@nab-400,I'm sorry about yours.u're right,I'm suppose to have had case complete by now but my no2 took so long to approve,about 9 month.it's crazy but I know God is in control.I'll try and get in touch with both uscis and nvc again.thanks

If you call NVC they will tell you when they actually 'received' your case. Which really means when they scanned it in. It was taking 4 to 6 weeks after their receipt date to get the Case # and IIN. Once you have the Case# things start moving very rapidly. Usually in another 45 days your case should be completed.

Was your case sent to a local field office?

It took us a year to the day to get NOA2 on Jan 31. Our case was not sent to NVC. It has been sitting at the Orlando all this time. It took us getting our Congressman involved to finally get the case to move. Well.. they say it was mailed out to NVC two days ago. We'll see if that's true.

NVC says to wait 8 weeks from NOA2 date. Call them to find out. If they don't have it, they ask you to email nvcresearch@state.gov with a copy of the NOA2 notice, and all your details in the email. They will contact USCIS on your behalf. I have no idea how long that would take. Probably a few more months.

6 Mar 2013 -- I130 transferred to Orlando local field office (which started the whole nightmare)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

NVC

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).

22 Apr 2014 -- NVC received
16 May 2014 -- NVC case number assigned
24 May 2014 -- AoS and IV bills paid

28 May 2014 -- Sent AoS and IV Packages

6 June 2014 -- documents scanned

18 July 2014 -- false checklist from NVC

21 July 2014 -- Case complete

28 July 2014 -- receive case complete email from NV

30 July 2014 -- interview booked! September 11 here I come!
