Hey there tamarae

Try late at night with the info pass or really early in the morning there always seems to be appointments free that week on the system. Ive done it a few times to see if I can get better appointments using my

kids names, hubbys name and my own name as you can always cancel(thankgoodness) .But best of luck on the appointment getting.

:)

Well, USCIS are really messing me around!

The last time I posted here, I think I'd said that my AOS had been denied because they hadn't received the evidence I sent them - despite me having tracking numbers and such to prove that I did.

Well, I filed a MTR in February, and received the receipt telling me that the $385 check had been cashed. I decided to contact our local congressman again to see if he could find out how long this would take (my initial DORA interview was back in July 2005), so as you can imagine, I'm getting quite impatient!

A couple of weeks later, the congressman informs me that USCIS have not received my MTR. That's the second time they've lost something I've sent them. Of course, though, they've cashed the check. Anyway, I've now faxed over the MTR to the congressman, who has forwarded it to them, and they are now saying that I should hear in about 30 days.

What I'd like to know is, when were they going to tell me that they hadn't received my MTR, or would I have only found out when I got the deportation notice?

Sorry for the rant, but this stuff makes me so mad!

Jan 13 2004 - Entered US on VWP

Apr 5 2004 - Married! :D

July 18 2005 - AOS Interview using DORA

Sept 13 - Fingerprints taken

Sept 28 - Fingerprint results received. Processing has resumed.

Sept 30 - Received 70 day letter with appointment for EAD

Jan 29 2006 - Received decision - AOS denied

Feb 24 - Filed MTR

Feb 29 - Received receipt saying check had been cashed

Mar 31 - Letter from Congressman stating that USCIS had not received my MTR

Apr 3 - Faxed copy of MTR to Congressman's office

Apr 6 - Email stating that my case should be completed within 30 days

Apr 10 - MTR granted. I-485 and I-130 approved!

July 10 - Email Update - GC has been ordered.

July 14 - Email Update - Sending out approval notice for I-485.

July 31 - Received Approval notice for I-130.

Aug 03 - Green Card received!!!!!!!!!!! Wooooohoooooo!!

Mrs JJ - Congratulations to ya.

Happygirl.... #######?! Sounds like a nightmare... you might wanna change your nickname. Everyone else, with a few odd exceptions, seems to have had such smooth rides -- they've lost two submissions?! I hope your congressman sorts it out and I look forward to seeing him on The Colbert Report's "Better Know a District"....

Oy happygirl, I hope they get it all straghtened out for you soon!

Here's our update:

We finally found a suitable appointment. May 8, 9:45am, we're booked. Now we just hope I can get the day off from work to drive down and back to Dallas from Lubbock.

Sorry i've been quiet lately. I'm now in Indiana for work, and i'm not really sure when i get to come home again. Its hard, was married on March 17, and had to leave home shortly after and I dont know when i'll be home again. I'll quit whining about that, and hope that I get to leave here soon for the long drive back to Texas..lol

Still waiting for our certified marriage certificate copy to be sent. Not seen any sign of it yet.

Well that's our update for now. I think i'll venture out and see if I can find something to do today.

Later guys!

mrs. jenjen - Congratulations! Good to know that there finally is an END to all this.

Our processing is pretty much following the same line as yours. We completed our Biometrics last Saturday, but, received another Biometrics letter yesterday along with the 70 day letter - saying that it is unlikely that our process will be complete by 90 days. The letter also mentioned of an appointment for us on the 14th April 6:00AM for an EAD/AP approval opportunity.

Just a quick question - What did you do with the second Biometrics appointment notice ? Did you redo it or just ignored it ? Thanks for your help.

Chi.

I totally ignored the second Biometrics appointment. LOL. I figured that as they wanted me to go back to the same place I had already been to then it had to be a duplicate letter. I figured if anything had gone wrong (they'd lost them or whatever) it would have been a more personalised letter they'd sent, not just the generic one I got.

I also kept my biometrics letter which was stamped, just in case I had to prove I'd done it. It never came to that though :D

Wake up DORA guys and gals! Just thought I'd poke my head in to see if anyone's heard anything good in the past few days.

Our appointment is finally made, we've got confirmation that our certified copy of marriage certificate is in the post coming to us, and now all that's left is my securing our appointment day off from work, since Dallas is a nearly 6 hour drive for us.

C got his TX driving license last week too, so he's rightly settling in, that makes me really happy. Now if I could only go home and see him and the kids. Its been nearly 2 weeks now.
