My husband(USC) is now starting to fill up the form for my 11 yr.old son(his stepson) but he is confused on how to answer the questions especially on #1 because there is no options that says stepchild?. So how should he fill up the form? should he insert the word "stepchild". Can he also enclose a letter of intent that he is petitioning for his stepchild(my son)?

It's just classed as child of USC. No option for step-child as it's just child of. My step-father is petitioning for me and in the application he had a cover letter that stated he was petitioning for me, his step-daughter etc. You also need to make sure you include things like your childs birth cert showing his biological father/a marriage & divorce cert for you & his father, and then a marriage cert of you & your current USC husband to prove the child is his step-son.. stuff like that. But yes, in a cover letter mention petitioning for step-child. That's what we did.

His 11 years old stepson is recognized a his child for the purpose of getting an immigration visa. He should list him as "child."

However, a stepchild is not recognized for derivative citizenship under the Child Citizenship Act.
