NVC Has Wrong Birthdate?

I called NVC tonight (twice) to see if they had sent the application to Haiti as I was told yesterday. Gave the Case# & when they asked for Beneficiarie's birth-date, I gave it. Was told by "John", who had a very strong accent & was difficult to understand at times, that it was an incorrect birth-date. He said we have to send in an original of the birth certificate for my fiance to get it corrected. I looked it up on the copy of the application (photo copy, so it's exactly what they have), and BOTH the I-129F and the G-325 show the correct DOB, which I gave. When I tried to ask "John" how this could be, he said, "I can't talk to you" and hung up.

So I called back & the next guy was nicer, but also said the DOB doesn't match. But yesterday I called & there was no problem & she gave me the case number & was told it's being finished & will be sent to Haiti.

My question is: HOW can a birth-date get mixed up? When BOTH pages of the application that show his DOB agree on the SAME DOB, is it an entry problem on their end? If so, why would I POSSIBLY be responsible for showing them the correct DOB, since BOTH forms show the correct DOB.

Argh! The second guy said email a scanned copy of my fiance's passport & they'll fix it.

Is this going to slow things down? I wouldn't think so, since it made it as far as it did with the DOB in the application.

We have exactly the same problem. After 6 months of waiting for our NOA2, we are now being told that they won't give us our consulate case # because my fiancé's (US petitioner) birthdate was entered wrong into their system. Everything is fine on the G-325A and the I-129F. They told us we need to send them a copy of his passport, so they can fix it, and refused to give us ANY information on our case. I don't know what to think, except for being incredibly mad right now.

Did they give you any further instructions on which e-mail address to use and what information exactly to include in the package besides the passport copy?

So, my fiance's job has a problem with their scanner & he hasn't been able to get his passport & birth certificate scanned for me to send. So I sent an email with a scanned copy of the original application, showing both forms with the CORRECT DOB & asked them to confirm & correct it (since it was an entry error on their side, not mine). We'll see what they do... If not, I'll wait until my man can get the scanned copies... argh!

We put all our documents (copies of birth certificate, passport, G-325A, I-129F, NOA1, which all show the correct birthdate) into a Pdf-file and sent it via e-mail to NVC. Some people here on VJ suggested to call them and request expedited handling based on USCIS error, but the tricky thing is that the NVC won't talk to us on the phone because of that wrong birthdate. It feels a bit like THEY made the mistake, but WE are held hostage for their errors. My fiancé did write in his e-mail that he is asking for an expedite, but I am not sure if they will accept it.

I hope we will get this sorted out soon! Keep me updated.

I called. When they got to the "what's his DOB" question, I told them, "see, that's the thing". I was nice, but firm & told them that SOMEONE there had made the mistake. I understand the guy on the phone can't give me information, but since we emailed everything, they need to rush the response. He wasn't really helpful, so I asked for a supervisor. Was put on hold for several minutes & he came back & said no supervisor was available, but he could send an email to the supervisor. WITHIN 30 MINUTES I had an email saying it was corrected. Called back to verify & sure enough. And this was at 9:30 Central Time I requested it too...

Just be ahead of them.

Good to know! I'll let my fiancé know. So far, all we have received was an automated response saying that all e-mails will be processed according to their receipt date. I just hope we will get this sorted out soon; I'd really like to know what is going on with our case, and whether our documents have already been sent out to the consulate.

So my fiancé just called and spoke to their supervisor. Even though he said it is a USCIS error, she just said the usual thing about emails being processed in the order that they are received. He pressed her for a timeframe and she said probably a week. What on earth!!! It is THEIR fault, and they do not take over ANY responsibility whatsoever. I'm just really really annoyed right now.

Send an email demanding that they get it taken care of... nicely, but firmly. That's what worked for me. Don't be too nice. Tell them that since this is THEIR mistake, you expect to have the correction expedited.

Send an email demanding that they get it taken care of... nicely, but firmly. That's what worked for me. Don't be too nice. Tell them that since this is THEIR mistake, you expect to have the correction expedited.

Yeah, we already requested an expedite in the e-mail we sent them last week with all the documents. Doesn't seem to help at all.

They still have not gotten back to us about the birth date, but at least we got a letter in the mail on Saturday from the NVC (dated Sept. 14) with our case number saying that our case will be forwarded to the consulate within a week. So I guess that is SOME good news!
