My fiance just received a blue slip in Guangzhou and the piece of paper that she was handed

did not state that we were missing any documents but only that your case requires further processing.

How do you find out why your case needs further processing ?

the 'why' is almost impossible to find out, alas.

But with that said, is MOST LIKELY the namechecks were not complete.

Here's a run down on namechecks - http://www.usaimmigrationattorney.com/SecurityNameChecksAndAdministrativeReview.html

For now, call DoS Hotline (# in my profile, click the girls, left panel) every few days, inquire for case status. Ask specifically if the casefile is in AP, and ask specifically if the namechecks are complete, or not complete.

Sometime later, you'll hear some different answers - which is a good thing, as the visa will be issued.

Did they keep her passport, or no ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I know it is frustrating but I would not worry too much about it. You should hear back in a month or two. If it is just the name checks thats even shorter time. They didn't give you white slip and they asked you for a document you can supply easily.

Is there anything in your work history or your fiance work history to cause a red flag?
