Hi guys,

I received I-797C a.k.a fee receipt today in the mail. Wondering if I can get my fingerprints done early with the NOA w/o an appointment. Did anyone get your fingerprints done early without an appointment?

Cannot be done. The biometrics appointment is required before you can attempt an early walk-in. It contains a bar code that the officer scans prior to getting your biometrics.

This will work only if you're a military member or family member of a serviceman.

Yes you can! (once you have your appointment letter). I did a early walk in biometrics for my first 2 year GC and then last year for removal conditions. Just go with your appointment letter to the office the day you want and talk with the security guy and he will tell you when you can go (maybe will be that day).

Good luck.

The question was can he do it with only NOA1 - somebody said no, I explained it is possible if you're military or their family member.

Of course you can try to do walk-in bio once you have bio letter.

They were unbelievably nice to us by letting my step daughter in with a week later bio appointment when I brought her and my wife in. But I am sure they wouldn't even let them in the door without that biometrics appointment letter.

Thank you so much for your responses, guys.

I actually had mine taken care of this morning. I am neither in the military service nor a family member of the military servicemen/women.

But, I explained my situation and they did me a favor. I don't think it works every time for everyone though. I woke up this morning and drove there thinking it wouldn't hurt to ask at least. :) BTW, I'm in Philadelphia.

Did they stamp the back of your NOA?

Hi NickD,

Did you do it at Milwaukee location? Do you know what the walk-in days are in that location? I would like to try a walk-in for fingerprint. Thanks.

This was a couple of years ago, but walk-ins were every Wednesday afternoon between noon and 1:00 PM, we were the only ones there.

Thanks, NickD. Just confirm that you also went to Milwaukee office, right? Thanks.

Yes, the Milwaukee in the southeastern part of Wisconsin that use to be the cleanest and most crime free city in these United States. Amazing what socialistic politicians can do to really mess up a city.

The USCIS office at 310 East Knapp Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202 is the one we went to, MOSE is across the street, on street parking if you can find a spot, was so dead when we got there, could park almost in front of the place, was in and out in five minutes, but had eight hours of driving. Actually longer than five minutes, hit them for that Guide to naturalization with the CD and took them ten minutes to find one, but we got it.

Also commented that I though the USCIS kept fingerprints for 15 months, we were here 11 months ago, he said, I don't know, I just work here. Also commented, what no picture, for our 80 bucks we got a picture taken last time, again he said, I don't know, I just work here, laughing of course when I made these comments. Oh, and you have to fill out a form, hand written with all the information the USCIS already has, that took another couple of minutes. Wife couldn't think, so filled it out for her, always gets panicked when she sees armed guards walking around. She finally overcame that fear at her oath ceremony, but that was in Bloomington, a far more modern building with a huge free parking lot.

Your biometrics appointment should state when you can walk in, ours did, but you have to have that appointment letter, without it, they are lost. Plus they want to know if you paid your 80 bucks.
