getting vaccinations for AOS requirement at health clinic?

I heard that you can get the required vaccinations for the AOS at a free health clinic instead of getting them at the uscis surgeon? IS that correct?

Don't you have to show that you are poor to go to these places? What if you're not poor but also don't want to pay the rediculous high prices that these uscis surgeons are asking? Where can I go?

When i came to the US, as K1 visa holder ... i only need to have my Td vaccine bcos we dont have that kind of vaccine in Phils. ... i got it in our area heakth clinic for free .. there's no proof of anything to show.. i just told them for immigration purposes.

But u still need to visit USCIS surgeon to transfer and update the vaccine record that the immigration clinic in your country given to you before your interview, u will bring this copy all the way to US for AOS purposes, and ur only need to update if and only u have lack of vaccine to take. So the USCIS will transfer all record to a new form which is the I-693A supplement, which the surgeon will sealed it and u will include it to all the docs u will submit for AOS processing. You will be asked for a certain fee for transfering it. Diff clinic fee's varies, why dont u try to call every surgeon that is near to your area and inquire for fee's to pay for transfering or other vaccine fee's that they have.

hope it helps.

I had all my vaccines done at our local heath clinic and all I was charged was $15 for 6 shots and the polio drops....

they gave me a list for the shots they had given me on headed note paper I took these back to the civil surgeon and he completed the form for USCIS and gave me a sealed envelope and a copy for me.....

I was not asked at the local clinic to prove how much money we had.... they just asked why I wanted the shots.... I explained it was for immigration and they knew exactly what shots I needed.....

I had all my vaccinations in Australia before coming here but you do have to go to a civil surgeon to have them put onto a I-693A form by them. It cost us $75 yesterday to simply have the form filled in with no need to even see the doctor. Civil Surgeons in this country make money for nothing in this country.

Ok but from my understanding, there is a TB shot that my girl needs to take because they dont have TB shots in her country. Is there something that the embassy will give her so she can present it to the clinic so they know exactly what shots are required?

When you say TB shot ... i got confused if u means ... TB test or Td shot, but if your telling about vaccine it is "Td" not TB , bcos an xray exam done in St. Lukes is for TB test.

The vaccine ur fiance telling about is the "Td shot" tetanus-diphtheria, which is we dont have that kind of vaccine in Phils... i got it free in health clinic in our area and asked for authorized form that i visit the health clinic and got the Td shot with them, with signature of the nurse do the shot.

Then this letter i gave together with the form DS-2053 (vaccine report) given by St. Lukes of Phils., <<<------- (this is the "something" that the St. lukes/Embassy gave to your fiance for her to see which vaccine she need to get when she enter US).... give the proof of letter u got the Td shot anywhere, or u cud have that Td shot at the USCIS civil surgeon with a "fee" and then they will update my I-693A supplement form and they will put it all together in a sealed envelope u will submit together with the AOS packet. for transfering the update vaccine the civil surgeon only asked me to pay $20.

gudluck!

I did some research on this I called to the civil surgeon in our area and the costs are: Td-$40, MMR-$84, and Varicella vaccine is not need but my fiance has to sign a paper saying he already has had the chicken pox. (if he hadn't we would need to pay for this as well) To transfer all information to I-693A would be $100, for a total of $224.

I, then called the free clinic and we do not need to meet income requirements. There is no charge or appt. needed for MMR, Td or Varicella, and they will give me documentation to take back to the civil surgeon. Which I will just have to pay $100 to transfer onto I-693A.

We are going to the free clinic then make an appt. for the civil surgeon, no need to spend more than we already have.

My husband got his Td shot at a free clinic here in NYC because the panel physician in the Philippines told him he needed to get it when he came to the U.S. The information was indicated on the Vaccination Worksheet they gave him in St Luke's Medical Center in Manila.

Ironically the civil surgeon ended up looking at my husband's records and telling him that he hadn't needed the Td shot after all because he had one in 1998 and they are good for 10 years.
