Hello everyone :)

Just wanted to let people who would like to track their packages from NVC to US Embassy in their respective countries can go to this DHL website at

http://www.dhl.com/publish/g0/en/eshipping.../sref.high.html

put in the ref. # as EXP 10 NOV 2008A for example... depending on which date NVC sends your package out.... and also to which country... and the date range... sometimes you don't get the exact date from NVC, i.e. mine... they said they sent the package on 7th (Friday) but in actual fact, it was the 10th Nov (Monday) and DHL only picked it up on 12th! So, basically if you don't get anything on the particular date, just play around with different dates :)

Anyways, as per below, those are my detailed tracking and I think it's soooo cool where it has been exactly :)

I have to thank RUTH for signing and receiving my package! Hopefully she's taking good care of it :)

This process will give you information about packages going from NVC to an Embassy or Consulate abroad but there is no possible way to know which package contains a specific case file.

An NVC operator will tell you your package was sent on a certain date but all they really know is that it was approved for forwarding on that day. They have no idea or tracking information as to when the mail room actually shipped the package with your case file.

Example. I tracked my package knowing it would sit in customs for weeks like everybody elses. (Guangzhou lets them sit in the customs warehouse until they are ready to actuall work the cases.) I followed a week's worth of packages and was expecting to wait another three weeks for delivery when my wife showed me her P3 on the webcam. I'll tell you I had the tracking process down and thought I was tracking every package that could possibly be mine but was happily dead wrong.

All that said, there are some low volume Consulates that don't get but a package every week or so. For those, the tracking can be pretty reliable as long as you look at at least a couple possibilities.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Thanks pushbrk - we are at that stage now, and I was trying to figure out how to verify the exact shipment. NVC says our file was sent out the 12th of November, but couldn't be any more specific. Kiev is not what you would call a low volume operation, so it looks like we will just have to sit tight. The call center told my SO that it could take TWO MONTHS to get the file iin the system. It looks like the VJ average is a couple of weeks though.

Oh wow... I didn't know that the customs would let these packages sit for soooo long!!! gosh... however I do think that mine should be somewhat correct as I couldn't find any other packages from NH within those timeframes :) I guess every consulate is different!! :) I guess that applied to my case... also... I just wanted to help people into getting the right web address for the DHL website as I couldn't find the exact correct one :)

*kudos to everyone!*

Does anyone know if NVC still use DHL to ship out K1 info to Foreign Embassy, that DHL is withdrawing all operations from US?

I got my NVC case number in the mail on Nov. 26th, saying my package will be shipped out to GuangZhou, China within a week. But when I did the above to find my DHL tracking #, I wasn't even able to find a single package going to CHINA. You would think there should be few packages going to CHINA, but I see none. So, I wonder if NVC is using a different carrier to ship to China?
