Notes: Approved without interview, even though my wife and I separated 9 months after our marriage. We have remained married until after ROC. The RFE was confusing but basically meant my stuff had gotten lost and after resubmitting my evidence I was approved very quickly. Please see my posts of july-september 2011 for more info if you are in a similar situation.

Consulate Review Mar 1, 2009
interview was very to the point, extremely short. They were only interested in seeing the correct paperwork and were happy to help me as fast as possible. There was confusion about the "militia certificate", a weird document that doesn't really exist anymore, so you have to bring an official statement from your town hall saying that it doesn't exist anymore :-). Non-Belgians need not worry about this at all. Anyway, I came back the next day to turn in this form and got my visa 10 minutes later.
Piece of cake.
