POE was simple and quick. Many airport workers were around to guide travelers to the correct lines for processing. My fiance handed the officer the sealed K1 visa packet and was asked a few questions (What is your fiancee's name, how old is she, how did you meet). He also reminded my fiance that we have 90 days to get married and file for adjustment of status. My only issue is that my fiance's flight landed 35 minutes early and I (petitioner) barely made it to meet him at the gate! Certainly that is of no fault to the airport or the officers at O'Hare however. :) |

Upon entering the airport we followed the signs for Visitors. I felt odd since I was not a Visitor. Once we arrived the first security checkpoint, the officer was very kind and took my Fiances Bio-metrics. He then held her Manila Envelope of her Physical Examination in the air. Another officer received the envelope and escorted us to another waiting area for processing. We sat in this area for maybe an hour waiting for an interview. We were called to the officers desk, he only looked at us, handed us the papers and said "have a nice day".
What???? Not one question. I am sorry others have not had the experience we have had. But for us to date, the Visa Journey has been a wonderful experience. |
