Very easy. I was with my husband (then fiance) when he entered the country as we had traveled back from his country together. No issues at customs...asked a few questions regarding our wedding date and where we would be living but otherwise, the officer was very nice and didn't give us a hard time at all! |

The smoothest part of the process. It took 25 minutes from start to finish. The agent looked over my manifest and briefly took a look inside our U-Haul. It was strange to go through the same land crossing I was denied 13 months earlier. It was a much different experience to have our immigration visas in hand. |

Hi everyone,
Here is a review of my POE, on March 6th! We arrived fairly late at JFK and followed all passengers towards the passport/customs area, and went into the normal line for foreigners seeking to enter the United States. The line went actually very fast and before we knew it, we were in front of a custom booth. When we were called up to the booth, the custom officer immediately asked; "what is the purpose of your visit?", i said; "we're seeking to immigrate! she then followed up with, "oh ok, do you have your documents?" (meaning the sealed envelopes from the embassy) Since I travelled with my son, she also asked; "...is that your son?" I said; "...yes", then she asked if I was bringing any food items, I said yes, and named the food I brought. That was all, and she basically went through our documents, stamped them on a window in front of the documents, and then she stamped our passports on the corner of our IR1/IR2 VISAS. It was all done in less than 10 minutes, very smooth and easy. Nothing to be worried about :) :) |
