My fiance had a very good experience with his point of entry at Hartsfield-Jackson airport in Atlanta. He said it was basically like a finishing interview for the entire K1 process. They asked him a few questions about what I do for a living, what he does for a living, our children. If we had set a wedding date yet. Just basic stuff honestly. The officer then handed him a sheet of paper that had information about becoming a U.S. citizen and told him congratulations. All my nervousness and worry was for nothing. |

If you are connecting MIA good luck, if you are thinking about it, find another airport especially if you are travelling with kids and have a lot of checked luggage... The distance from the plane to customs is a cool 20 mins if you walk slow, the distance from customs to recheck bags is another 20 mins, I even had to go up escalators with my luggage and the distance between terminals..... my gosh!!!!!! It was at least 30 mins and more...Anyway, upon my arrival I got to customs and the officer in the booth took my packets, and passports and told me stand against "the wall" . Two minutes later another officer took me and about 12 others to "the room" ...I immediately heard my name as I sat down but it was just because another officer wanted me to move to a less empty adjoining room which I didn't mind. There was only one officer working on that side. I sat for about 45 minutes before he called me up and all he wanted to confirm was the address and he gave me back the consent letter which I didn't even see him open. Within 5 minutes he stamped our passports (k1/k2) called me up again and told me I can go and that was it. No interrogation or anything and they were all nice for the most part... |
