Nishris N & C Los Angeles 2021-10-03 - High I entered Los Angeles on K1 visa from Toronto. Customs took too long as there was a huge lineup before me. I had an early flight and had made sure to reach airport well in advance but since the security opened at 7am and my flight was at 8am, I had to rush everything. Air Canada and United airline attendants would come every few minutes asking if anyone was flying with them, then take down their info. I guess they were making sure to hold the plane so no one would miss their flight. The flight had delayed for more than an hour, guess because of people like me being held in customs. I was very nervous that I would not make it but kinda worked in the end. Overall customs process was smooth, they asked questions about spouse and myself and about the marriage dates etc. Overall good experience but just too much waiting time and anxiety at customs due to huge line-ups. 2025-10-02

Billie & Shawn Los Angeles 2023-12-29 No - High Very easy and smooth experience. Asked for the address I would like my documents to be mailed to and I was asked if I have any questions for him. That was it. I don’t think I was there for more than 5 minutes. 2025-01-23
Ekaterina & Michael Los Angeles 2021-12-08 No Yes - High I traveled Krakow - Munich - Los Angeles with Lufthansa. At the check-in, I showed antigen COVID test and proof of vaccination against COVID-19. On arrival at the LAX, there was a very long line (I'd say 200-300 people) for the border control, it took about an hour to get through even though a lot of CBP officers were working. Once I reached the border control officer I volunteered that I'm here on a K-1 fiancee visa and passed my passport and the yellow envelope with the documents. The officer took it and started carefully going through all of the documents, sorting and giving back to me some of them which he didn't need (e.g. extra pictures of me). He said that I have to get married in 90 days and asked if we made any plans yet. And in the end, he smalled and said heartwarming: "Welcome to America" :) . I was not asked any other questions. Overall I had a very nice experience flying with Lufthansa and going through the border control in LAX. 2025-07-24
