Outoftime Chris & Laura Orlando 2013-06-11 - High 2016-07-31
Diego & Liz Miami 2013-06-11 Yes - High Flew from Guayaquil at 11:30 PM and got to Miami at 5 AM. Both of us got in the US citizen's line at customs. We gave the lady at the desk both our passports, our customs cards, and the IR-1 envelope. She took his fingerprints and made small talk about Ecuador. She stamped my passport and card, and gave them back to me, and took all of hubby's things and gave them to another man, who led us to a different room. We sat down in a big (empty) room full of chairs. There was one other man in the room, but we still had to wait two hours to get called for some reason. The officer asked hubby some simple questions (Who's petitioning you? Who is she? How long have you been married? Where did you go on your honeymoon?), then told us to wait again. She came back after about fifteen minutes with hubby's passport and customs card. A different man stamped his passport, and we were free to go to our connecting flight. Keep in mind that if you have a connecting domestic flight, you should give yourself a good amount of time in Miami to get through everything, because you'll have to pick up all your luggage, go through security again, drop it off, etc etc. After customs, it took us another 1.5 hours to get to the waiting area at the gate for our next flight. Luckily, we'd chosen a flight that gave us 4.5 hours in Miami, so we were okay, but others had flights at 7:30 AM and missed them. Give yourself lots of time! 2016-08-28

Laura & Jason JFK 2013-06-08 - High Awful! Horrible! A real nightmare! When we got off the plane, all visitors were kept in a corridor for at least 10 minutes and we had no idea why. Then, when they let us go I understood. There was at least 400 people packed like sardines in lines. Officers yelled non-stop saying "Step up! Step up! Use the space!" and this way my nose was on the neck of the person ahead of me. There was no oxygen in the room at all. Officers were trying to make things move faster and after an hour they opened more lines and started moving us to new lines. This way I was far away again :/ Another hour passed when I finally was next in the long line to go to one of the Customs officers. AND ONLY THEN SOMEBODY NOTICED MY YELLOW ENVELOPE and told me to go SOMEWHERE ELSE. I was sent to a separate room. There were only two workers and one person. One officer took my envelope and told me to take a seat. He opened it, started to type data into computer, called me to take my fingerprints and told me to go sit again. He continued typing on the computer. After 2 minutes called me to take back my passport and said "You have 90 days to get married. Leave through this door". I thanked and turned around to pick up my purse and my carry on luggage. When I was in the door he called me back again to double check the address on the customs declaration and only then asked me 2 questions: "So how long do you know this person?" (meaning my Fiance!) and "Where is this town of A....t?". That's it! All this time the man didn't even look at me and had a face expression like I was some s**t to him. Sorry to say so, but it's true. In the US people smile at you everywhere, but not this time. I was glad he was quick and I could finally leave after having wasted 2 hours in the line!! Then I discovered one of my suitcases (a brand new one) was broken and that a cart for luggage that is free for your usage at every airport in the entire world cost $5 at JFK! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO AVOID THIS POE! 2017-10-14
