You need to make sure that every name that you may have used needs to be reported on the NBI Clearance. Make sure you ask for the NBI Clearance with AKA. Her issue was on her original birth certificate, they spelled her middle name incorrectly. She had the middle name corrected on her birth certificate, but failed to put the first misspelled name on the NBI Clearance Report as an AKA name that she may have used. She had to go back and request another NBI Clearance with AKA and put on the report her misspelled middle name as an AKA. She then had to send the new NBI Clearance Report and her passport back to the US Embassy through the 2Go Courier service. It took about 2 weeks for the documents to arrive back at the US Embassy. After the Embassy reviewed her updated NBI Clearance, they granted her the US Visa. It added an additional month or so to the process and delayed her entry into the US. Please make sure that all possible names that the beneficiary may have used are reported on the NBI Clearance with AKA to avoid the same issue that we had. 2021-06-07
jil & ben Philippines Texas No Manila, Philippines 2018-09-18 2019-05-06 2019-06-03 2019-10-24 2019-10-24 2019-11-04 2019-11-25 2019-12-04 2014-07-26 N/A* first of all , Glory to God, the waiting is over! we have waited for 1yr & 3months for this petition to be approved. life was like roller coaster. feel giddy and anxious. we were both expat and decided to settle in US, we thought process will be short and easy. i guess , guessing is not always right.. anyway, the USCIS was smooth, no problem at all. though NVC was such a nightmare. cant blame the NVC for the slow process, because it was our mistake too. twice that we have uploaded/submitted wrong format of our docs to NVC through CEAC.. NVC is as strict as your Professor way back college days. NVC wants all the corner and sides of docs will be visible, there will be allotted space to be seen, and should be in vertical position. these are not stated to their guidelines, so we were a bit careless. in short because of our simple mistake our case floated in NVC for 4months. finally after months of waiting , manila embassy received our case and gave us interview schedule, we have made our interview schedule 2weeks earlier than the initial sched they gave us. the medical in SLEC went well. though i agreed with some that you doesnt need to go there as early as 7am, it is better to be there 9am onwards, waiting is just the same. fast forward, i arrived to embassy 1hr before my interview, i put on clothes that were look formal but simple , not intimidating. by the way pay attention to the people who are announcing the time assigned for each applicant. i have noticed most applicants are nervous and cant pay attention properly, so what happened was many were confused what line they will go..try to relax, calm down and be confident. anyway, during my interview i have received a 221g white slip. the consul is asking for my CENOMAR, he didnt accept my old CENOMAR he wanted the updated one taken this year. he still insisted for my updated CENOMAR even though i have an updated marriage cert. i was sad while he is talking, and he noticed it, so he gave me hope, he said; dont worry this doesnt mean denied, i just need your CENOMAR then wait for 2weeks or 4, and you will receive your passport. after that i am still sad, but with hope. anyway, that day after interview i got my udated CENOMAR and sent back to embassy together with my passport. lesson, make sure all your docs are updated and you have all the docs you think are needed , even it is belong to supplemental docs still bring it to the interview. they didnt ask any docs from me, just the updated CENOMAR, how ironic that i have hundreds of paper i have with me but they even didnt care to see even one of it, and that one paper i dont have is what they needed. ahh, life! consul can be unpredictable. haha anyway, the waiting game is back, everyday i monitor our case through ceac. Nov 7 - updated AP Nov 8- updated AP Nov 12- updated AP Nov 13 - upated AP Nov 21 - issued Nov 26 - received by the way the ustraveldocs is a bit accurate. 2go etrace was totally useless for my case. for 5days it shows invalid till the day i received my passport. the ustraveldocs is the one that helped a lot to track my passport. by the way i am under CCD it means no packet needed to show in border control. may my post helps the future inquire. Happy Thanksgiving to all! 2019-12-19
