Realized we were missing the new I-944 (wasn't on any of the guides and websites I checked since it's so new :( ). Resubmitted on 5/30/20 and it arrived on 6/2. On 6/24 my credit card was charged. At 1045pm on 6/25 I got the receipt notice texts. On 6/29 I got them in the mail. On 7/28/20 we got a notice that we didn't send in the medical exam. On 11/20/20 got a biometric notice in the mail for 12/10. 3/5/21 status changes to interview scheduled. Got the notice on 3/11. Interview date is 4/8/21. Interview was easy. Told we'd likely be approved shortly. The case was approved before I even got home and looked (>40 minutes) and had already changed to new card being produced. | 2021-06-03

We got there around 10:25 and got called up for our interview around 11:15am. My husband doesn’t speak that much English so we had a translator readily available per the interview notice which clearly stated we need to be prepared with one since they will not provide one to us. When we get called The CO asks if he needs a translator, I inform him we have one ready by phone that we prepaid for through a translator service. He hesitates and tells us to wait by the door, when he comes back about 15 min later he shares they have a translator for us by phone. I was grateful, but annoyed by this since we already paid for someone and was stressed out about this whole translator thing and if they would call us at the time we provided to the interpreter. We sit in the CO’s office for our interview and they tell me to not Speak unless a question is directed towards me and the CO literally goes through my husbands whole I-485 application line by line verifying and confirming what was written on it. We had provided all evidence previously but gave him some updated information such as bank, insurance and tax info. Also an updated Affidavit of support. The CO was cool and calm for the most part. My husband did well answering the questions, but stumbled on his answer about how many times I visited over the 5 years we’ve been apart. He remembered most of them but one date. No biggie though. He goes on to ask about our 2 year old son and then literally asked us when was he conceived since my husband was in Haiti at the time of his birth, so we reiterated the visit date of that year he was born. He checked my passport to verify the visit. Last thing he asked was “do you have any photos you want to show me?†I respond, yes and provide him a stack of photos he goes through them about half way and gives them back and asked us if we have any questions. We say no and he shared the policy around green card approval/denial and tells us if anything else is need we’ll let you know. We leave and our case updates from “interview to interview complete case must be reviewed†. This made me nervous at first, but a few days later we get a letter in the mail. I have a case tracker app so I check that thing faithfully to see if any RFE’s were sent , but my status still said the same thing , so before opening the letter I assumed it was a denial. Come to find out the letter was asking for us to compete a new medical since ours was passed their expiration date. I’m guessing cause of Covid and due to my K1 process taking longer than others experience. (Go through my timeline and posts to see why) we spend another $700 on a medical and send it in a week From the date we got the RFE. When USCIS received the documents by mail our case status changes to “RFE received, USCIS is now working on your case again. 2 days later it updates to “your new card is being produced†then a day later it updates to “case approvedâ€. We were happy as all Heaven! ;) | 2021-04-07

Went over the i-130 and i-130a by confirming information on the from about ourselves and the other person. Transitioned to the i-485 confirming information and asking the yes-no questions. Asked us "our story", pictures of our dog, asked for bona fides - mostly just took financial documents and joint taxes. Asked to see original copy of both birth certificates and marriage certificate. Flipped through every page of beneficiary's passport (I believe looking to see if CBP stamped it for last entry - they did not). Did not want utility bills. Did not ask for updated employer letter or current paystubs (possibly bc direct deposits noted on bank statements? and we gave her our 2020 W2s). Gave the officer an updated i693 medical. Officer asked if we had any questions and we confirmed we would be getting the 10yr card (made it by 1 day!). Interview concluded by her giving us a letter saying the interview was complete and the case needed to be further reviewed. She also inadvertently congratulated us before correcting herself. We were outside in the parking lot by 10:40a. Approved online around 5pm with "new card being produced" status. 4/8, 5am Received the USCIS email alerting us that action had been taken on the case. Pending EAD/AP renewals now showing: "Case Closed Benefit Received By Other Means" | 2021-04-15
