Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Security at this office location is terrible. They talk to you like you are are piece of trash. We were off to a bad start. We arrived 30 min. prior to our appointment, but check-in took an hour, so we were essentially 30 min. late to our appointment. We were asked to follow our IO (interview officer) 15 min later. She asked us basic questions such as telephone no., addresses, special dates etc. We weren't approved because the IO was confused over the fact that I had obtained work when I received my EAD. She was not very good at explaining why she needed additional documentation (two forms) that - after inspecting them - do not apply to me. I hope it's a misunderstanding and that she realizes my case was clean and I had submitted everything I was supposed to. So, needless to say, my experience was rather negative and I found them to be rude and not very competent. I expect a quick decision followed by an approval, although they have 120 days to get back to me. I'm very disappointed!

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I had my interview on 23rd Sept at 12:05pm and it went like a breeze. Got there at 1130am and was let in, went through airport type security check even had to remove shoes, then went up to 7th floor to a room where the person at the window asked for the interview letter and gave us a token number and asked us to go to another room and wait for our number to be called, we went to the other room (people were social distancing) and were expecting to wait for 1-2 hours but our number was called and the IO thanked us for coming early for our interview and took us to her office where she asked us to sit (she told my USC wife to sit on the middle chair and told me to sit on the aisle chair) then she made both of us take an oath. She was very nice and told us if she asks any embarassing questions its just part of the process even though she didnt ask any such questions she asked where we met how we met and when we met each others family how is our relation with each others family, asking for w... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I had my interview on the 14th, and my case was approved right away! Here's a detailed breakdown:

-The notice said arrive 15 min prior, but we were worried about the security check line so just entered the building through the makeshift entrance perpendicular to Worth st. a few minutes before. No one said anything.

-No one was allowed in the building without a mask on, only 4 people were allowed in the elevator at the time, plenty of hand sanitizers, 6 ft distancing for people on a line, and waiting room had a few pair of chairs separated from each other by good distance.

-We first checked in on a big room on 7fl, then waited in another room for about 1.5 hr. There did not seem to be much order in who gets called first because people with both lower and higher waiting number than us got called in before us. 3-4 lawyers present with their client but most of the interviewees were on their own (with their spouse only). After... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Interview went well (this was on June 6, 2017 - just updating my timeline today), we were not approved in-office before we left however. The officer claimed we needed form I-693, a new medical exam/vaccinations done here in the U.S. She believed that the medical exam we did in the Philippines for our K1 was no longer valid because it had been more than a year between the interview and her medical exam.

We anticipated this might occur and had brought a print-out of form I-693inst page 8 (top portion of the form highlighted), which states that the 1 year requirement is not between the medical exam and the interview, but for having filed for AOS within 1 year of having the overseas medical exam - which we did do.

Fortunately, the officer agreed to take this up with her boss, but would not be approving us until getting clarification on the requirement, and sent us home telling us to wait for their reply. On our way home from the interview, within 2 hour... read complete review
